Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was established in the year 1946 in the cityKakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was formerly called‘The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam’. The university has a 110-acre campus on the east coast of peninsula India.Kakinada has a rich political literacy and cultural heritage passed on through generations. The college follows a continuous method of evaluation for internal assessment and external mode for end-examinations under the semester system. Most of the faculty on rolls at present are having Ph.D and a few more are in the process of acquiring. Members of the teaching faculty have authored a good number of research papers, research reports and textbooks.JNTU Kakinada is known for its EAMCET entrance test where over 250,000 students take the test every year for around 600 seats in its undergraduate engineering courses. All the selected top candidates for engineering programs enrol at the University College of Engineering (Autonomous) Kakinada.
