PGIMS, Rohtak was established in 2008, was formally known as Medical College, Rohtak. It is a graduate medical institute in the city of Rohtak,India. The institute offers various courses in major specialties of medicine. It is a premier post graduate medical institute in North India offering courses in major specialties and super specialties of medicine. Today Pt.B.D.Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak is a famous institution not only for medical education but also for the health care facilities both at the national as well as international level.The Institute is renowned throughout the country and worldwide for its impeccable patient care services and quality medical education. It is imparting Post Graduate Degree/Diploma course in all the specialties/super specialties, Under Graduate and other Para-medical education.

The Institute, over the years, has developed an excellent organizational structure through its statutory and non-statutory authorities resulting in the establishment of a well regulated administrative machinery and achievement of excellence in academic functioning and medical research and providing a high level of medical care to the patients. Just to give a glimpse of the services rendered by the hospital to the needy patients, nearly 11,38,980 patients were provided consultation and treatment in the outpatient departments during the year 2004–2005. Out of these 68,000 patients were admitted as indoor patients. The expansion of the hospital campus at Rohtak has been phenomenal both in terms of academic expansion as well as providing infrastructural and other support facilities.
