Gateway College of Architecture and Design (GCAD), Sonipat has been initiated by the Gateway Education & Charitable Society. GCAD is affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal. This Society has as a partner, an architect who has a strong desire of providing to the young people, aspiring to lead a creative life of an architect, a platform that is based on idealistic but pragmatic thinking. The college is being guided by another architect who has a vast experience in architectural education and believes in using contemporary teaching methods for effective education.

This college of architecture and design envisions the creation of well rounded personalities capable of producing meaningful architecture and design and become positive contributors to the Society and Nation. The college also sees itself as a forerunner in developing a new line of thinking in architectural education. It is headed toward the creation of a model school of architecture that others can emulate with ultimately an open access data base that makes it possible for students from anywhere to access the teaching material generated by the faculty.

Admission Process :-

Admission to the B.Architecture programme is based on the merit of marks obtained in National Aptitude Test in Architecture and School +2. The basic qualifications for admission are: No candidate with less than 50% marks in aggregate shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/she has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as subjects of examination at the 10+2 level or 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks or International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination. All Admissions to Architecture degree course shall be subject to passing of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture or any other acceptable aptitude test. Admission to 80% of the seats is done by the Haryana State Counseling Society and the remaining by the college. This college has at present an annual intake of 120 in B.Architecture.

As the admission to this college is done by the Haryana Government through the Haryana State Counseling Society students should register with this Society. The registration is an online process and should be done after getting the score of NATA. This registration can be done on www.hscs.org. However, for the vacant/left over seats the students should also download the admission form of this college and submit it to the college.
