APIED was founded in 1980 at Vadodra by a group of like minded professionals who had a collective vision to establish an institutions of repute to impart quality education in Architecture and Interior design, The vision was formulated into reality under the aegis of Parisar Trust. Founder trustee of Parisar Trust included renowned individual in their chosen professionals namely late Ar. Suryakant Patel, late Shri Himmatbhai Patel, Ar. Rasik Shah, Er. Mahindra Modi, Shri Prabhudas Patel, and Shri Bhupen Kakkar. The institute was later shifted and established at Vallabh Vidynagar in 1984 under patronage of late Dr. H.M.Patel who was then finance minister of India and chairmen of Charuter vidya Mandal. The institute presently functions under the umbrella of charuter Vidya Mandal at Vallabh Vidyanagar and affiliated to Sardar Patel University. Recently Ar. Rahul and Smt. Kavita Patel have been appointed as trustees in addition to the founder trustee. The APIED campus occupies a beautiful, park-like setting covering @2.5 Acre of land. It is a home to scholars in the field of Architecture and Interior design. The campus is part of Vallabh Vidyanagar city, founded by Late Shri Bhaikaka, in the year 1952, imparting education to @ 40,000 Students from the villages around, Gujarat state and eventually from the whole country.330 students are currently enrolled in undergraduate & graduate degree programs. APIED has graduate @ 1934 alumni over its 35-Year history, including many leading Architects in India and Abroad.
