Throughout the course the student will work on design projects related to practical situations on live sites. As far as possible the academic input to the course is related to the program being carried out in the design studio.
Student progress is monitored through a combination of continuous assessment in Design Studios, written examinations, group discussions, reviews and juries for each field of study. The program includes relevant course dealing with concepts, technical details and design practice as well as electives in the areas of students’ interest.
The course work is to help students understand finer aspects of architecture which are very much integrated to designing, planning and construction of buildings.
It is a unit of SVS Educational Institutions. The college is affiliated to Anna University and approved by Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It offers Bachelor of Architectural (B. Arch) programme. It has well qualified teaching staff having good experience in the field of education. Admissions are based on marks obtained in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) exam, conducted by Council of Architecture.
SVSSA has separate hostels for girls and boys inside the SVS campus with all modern facilities. The objective of the college is to maintain research environment and develop a stimulating teaching-learning. It also prepare students for diligent, creative and responsible thinking and architectural practice.
