Established and run by Sree Guruvayurappan Educational and Charitable Trust, the Guruvayurappan institute of Management, Coimbatore was started in the year 1995. The institute is affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and approved by AICTE. The institute offers a two year full time MBA Program, accredited by NAAC, Government of India.
About the MBA ProgramSpanning over two years and four semesters, the MBA Program at GIM covers 17 core courses and 32 electives. The students are also required to undertake a summer project, introducing them to the practicalities of the corporate world. The sanctioned intake of students is 180 per batch. EligibilityAn Indian national aspiring to get admitted in GIM must have completed his/her graduation and must have appeared in MAT/CMAT/TANCET/CAT/CET.
Foreign nationals seeking admission in GIM must have passed a qualifying examination equivalent to the under graduation of Tamil Nadu. They are also required to submit the following documents:
- Certificate (original) and syllabus of the qualifying examination
- Equivalency certificate from the concerned authority
- Migration Certificate
- Eligibility certificate from the Bharathiar University
- Passport and attested photocopy of parent’s passport
- No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Human Resource Development
- Clearance Certificate issued by competent authority
Those meeting the eligibility criterion may apply by obtaining the prospectus and application form from the office of the institute. The cost of obtaining the application form is Rs.600.

Fees StructureThe fees for pursuing the two year MBA Program at GIM is Rs.75,000 per semester, thus totaling down to about Rs.3,00,000 for the course.
PlacementsGIM boasts of an on campus placement percentage of about 90% with 72 students getting placed in 2013. The institute is annually visited by some of the most prominent names in the corporate world including South India Bank, Reliance HR Services, GMR, IDBI Federal Life Insurance Co. Ltd, ING Vysya Bank, HDFC Bank, TATA Tele Services, ICICI Bank and so on.

Campus FacilitiesThe GIM Campus is spread across and area of 10.75 acres wit 2 acres belonging to the sports field and games area. The campus houses 9 classrooms, 3 tutorial rooms, 2 seminar rooms, a laboratory, a conference room and a committee room. The campus is WiFi enabled and the computer lab boasts of over 230 systems. The library is well stocked with over 15000 books and subscription to more than 150 journals.
Hostel FacilitiesProvision for accommodation is available for both boys and girls within campus.
Scholarships- The students securing first five positions in the first year university examinations are awarded a scholarship of Rs.5,000 provided they pass all the papers in first attempt and have an aggregate in excess of 65%.

- The student securing first position in the paper ‘Organizational Behaviour’ is awarded the KUG Poduval Smaraka Award and presented with Rs.5,000 cash.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at GIM students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
