Established in 2003, Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology is an engineering college located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan spread over an area of 7,00,000 square feet. Affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, the college has been approved by the All India Council of Technical Education too and is a part of the JIET group.
The college is said to have a decent placement record. Top recruitment companies include IBM, HSBC, Infosys, Capgemini, Global Engineering Corporation, Appeal.

Application and Admission Procedure
Admission Procedure
The mode of application to the college is online. Students need to visit the official site of the college and register themselves. Once done, candidates need click on the admission portal. There after candidates need to fill in the form properly providing their correct educational and personal details.
Admission to B.Tech programmes is classified into three categories:
- 70% of the seats will be filled as per the guidelines of REAP (Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process)
- 15% seats will be filled through JEE (MAIN, for outside Rajasthan candidates only).
- 15% seats are filled through management quota as per guidelines of Govt. of Rajasthan.
For M.Tech courses, admission will be granted on the basis of the guidelines of CAM (Centralized Admissions in M.Tech), Rajasthan Technical University. It is to be remembered that the candidates with a valid GATE score will be given preference.
The selected candidates will be called for the counselling process and they need to carry the following documents:
- Mark sheet of 10th and 12th board examination and other transcripts if applicable
- Caste certificate or medical certificate (if applicable)
- Identity proof
- Score card of the entrance examination
- Domicile certificate
- Recent passport size photographs
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
There are comprehensive hostel facilities for girls and boys separately within the campus. The careful wardens and the vigilant security helps in maintaining decorum in the hostels. There is a facility of air cooled and the non air cooled hostels which consists of double seated and triple seated rooms with all the essential amenities.
The students can use the library along with the wifi connection. Furthermore, there are various other facilities such as Indoor and outdoor sports, gym and other resources which helps the students in nourishing their overall personalities.
There is also a monthly DJ night which takes out all the monotony out of the dull life.
Campus Facilities
There are laundry services which provide the student’s comfort of home. Availability of on-campus medical facilities in the campus health care for the students in case of any emergencies. There are various cultural activities including sports for the students.
The campus is well furnished with the research labs, auditoriums, seminar halls and so on for the benefits of the students.

Eligibility
To pursue MBA at JIET students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.
Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Procedure
Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.
The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:
- Past academic performance
- Quality & content of the answers in the application form
- Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
- Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
- Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
- Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.
A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
Remarks
My overall college experience was good but the academic schedule of the college can be tiring at times. From morning to evening we have to constantly attend the lectures. Yet i would not bad mouth my college as it has givenj so much to us other than academics. You can consider this college if you want admission.
Entrance Exam
The admission into the btech program is based on the Jee mains, cet or other popukar entrance test. Also you can be called for a personal interview. Also one of my friends who scotred great marks in entrace was awarded scholarship.
Fees
The fee for the college is expensive as compared to other colleges in the city. The hostel fee is around 40k and the room is to be shared with 2-3 ppl. The food is cheap at the hostel but the quality of the food is not great.
Placements
The placement of the university is good. Around 85% of the students from my batch got placed. Some of the popular companies are wipro, tcs, ford, niit tech. But you should be aware that the placement percentage and package depend upon the branch and the company.
Hostel and Facilities
I reside in the city itself so I do not have much info about the hostel but I have friends living there who are pretty much satisfied. The rooms are provided on sharing basis where 2-3 students live together. The food of the canteen is eatable and students have the option of eating outside too. The hostel also has a gym and other sport facilities.

There are always events and competition going on at the college. An annual sports fest is organized here which covers a covers a lot of sports. Other than this there are also various extra curricular activities like dance, music etc in which the student can participate.
Academics
The exam structure is semester based. There mid sem and end sem exams along with assignments and practical. Students should maintain a good attendance other you wont be giving the exams.
Internships
Yes, the college provides internships with stipends. I personally believe everyone should do internships as they provide you with required exposure and real life cases which you will never get in classroom teaching. The stipend and duration of the internship varies company to company. The average amount during my time was about Rs 3-8k.
Loans and Scholarships
The scholarship is offered to the students based on his marks in class 12th or once admitted, on semester scores. Those who have more than 95% in class 12th get full scholarship for the first sem and if their performance continues the scholarship continues.. have Student who has more than 8 cgpa have a higher chance of getting scholarships.
