The Institute was co-founded by the Mr. Dineshbhai Mody in loving memory of his beloved son Late Shri Alkeshbhai D. Mody, who was a dynamic stockbroker and noble soul. The Institute was established in 1994, as a Department of the University of Mumbai, offering management education with a focus of financial services.
The Institute was set up in response to growing and acute need felt by Indian managers and investors to deal with rapidly changing business and financial environment. The courses started at the outset were a Diploma in Investment Studies and the Masters in Financial Services and Management program, which was exclusively offered by ADMI for more than half a decade.
The logo of the Institute bears its VISION, ERUDITION, FAITH AND CHARACTER which negates INJUSTICE (ANANYA), IMMORTALITY (ANNETI) AND GREED (PARIGRAHA) in every domain of life. The 'Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies' is an institute of the 'University of Mumbai'. The University has two management institutes namely 'Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies' and 'Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies'. It was established in 1994 and offers under-graduate (B.M.S), post-graduate (M.M.S in the specialization of Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations and Systems) and part-time (M.F.S.M) programmes. Recently, it has introduced a Ph.D programme in management. It is a full-fledged management institute located at the University of Mumbai's, kalina campus.
The institute has been recently awarded 'B-School with Excellent Industry Interface' by Dainik Bhaskar (2013), ABP News ,Amar Ujala B-school Excellence Awards for the year 2012-2013. Dewang Mehta B- School Awards have also honored us with the 'B-School with Best Academic Input syllabus in Finance' award twice in a row (2012 & 2013). The institute has also been ranked among the Best 150 B-Schools by 'The Week' & 'Chronicle' magazines.
The objective of the institute is to bridge the industry-academia relationship and produce effective managers who could lead the organizations with their humble attitude and management knowledge.
