St. Francis Institute of Technology Engineering College (
SFIT) was founded in the year 1999, with an intention to setup an institute of technical education in the Borivli area. It is a Roman Catholic Minority Educational Institute that is affiliated to the University of Mumbai permanently.
It is approved by the AICTE and Directorate of Technical Education of Maharashtra and ISO 9001 : 2008 certified.
The institute is spread over a 5 acre lush green area, away from the busy city of Mumbai in the suburbs, though well-connected to the city.
SFIT offers programs in UG BE degree in computer engineering, IT and electronics and telecommunications engineering and PG ME courses in computer engineering and electronics and telecommunications engineering and Ph.D.
The institute has a dedicated R&D centre that conducts industry related research and pure academic research. Admissions are based on the test scores of MHT CET or JEE Main for UG courses, GATE scores for PG courses and relevant degree in PG for PhD.

- The campus has a spacious building with seven floors. It has 60 air conditioned rooms, tutorial rooms, and laboratories.
- Library- The reading room has internet connectivity. It also provides digital library services.

- Gymkhana- It provides facilities like Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton and Throw ball.
- Canteen- The college canteen provides healthy and nutritious food at a reasonable price from 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Counselling Cell
- Departmental Seminar Hall- The seminar halls are used for student debates, literary events, research and development activities, staff meetings, board meetings and discussions.
- Assembly Hall- The assembly hall can accommodate 250 people. It is used for addressing students, conducting technical fests, orientations, cultural programs, inaugural celebrations, and screening of documentaries.
