PUNE INSTITUTE OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY
Established by the Society for Computer Technology and Research in 1983, Pune Institute of Computer Technology is a private engineering college. The college spreads over a campus of 3.14159 acres. The campus, located in Dhankawadi – a suburb of southern Pune, consists of various sub-buildings including main building, school of management, canteen, boys’ hostel, girls’ hostel, and workshop and guest house.
The institute has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute is affiliated with the University of Pune. The degrees are conferred by the university.
The college has a well-maintained placement cell to assist the students in the placement process.
Admissions to the various courses offered are made on the basis of 12th and JEE(Main) ranks obtained by the students.

Application and Admission Procedure
HOW TO APPLY?
The candidate seeking admission at Pune Institute of Computer technology, Society of Computer technology and research are eligible for the admission if they qualify their 12th or equivalent examination with minimum 50% with mandatory subjects physics, chemistry, mathematics. They also need to qualify JEE Mains or MHTCET. The candidates must apply online for admission.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The candidates eligible for admission must visit the official website of the college or entrance examination.
They are required to fill the online application form, take the printout upload scanned copies of the required documents and send the filled and signed application form by speed force or by hand delivery for verification and confirmation at the mentioned date for admission.
DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED
Scorecard of the respective entrance examination 10th and 12th mark sheet, attested Xerox copies of the original documents and passport size photograph of the candidates are some of the documents to be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The final admission is done through counselling which is based on the rank obtained by the candidate in MHTCET or JEE Mains.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel facilities
There are two hostels which accommodate boys and girls separately. The rooms of the hostels are well equipped with all the pre-equipped basic requirements of the two students such as cot, Table, Chair, Shelves, Fans, and Bathroom etc. Various other advanced facilities include-
- A LAN connection
- Each storey of the hostel building is under the CCTV Surveillance in order to prevent the ragging incidents in the hostel.
- There are separate security guards on duty every day and night.
- The delicious food provided at the hostel is one of the remarkable qualities of the hostel.
Other facilities
The classrooms have well-connected internet connections, a Computer, a Projector, an OHP and a green-board. The live classrooms sessions are made interesting with the chalkboard methods. The computer labs are well equipped with the latest software.
The libraries are full of knowledge for reference and research purposes for the students. A big reading hall for the students is also provided and a digital library is also provided for the aid of the students. A group study room is also available for the students where they can clear their doubts and concepts with each other.

Remarks
There is nothing I can recall about my experience at this university. I have some amazing ppl here, the faculty was great, the method of teaching and course curriculum has been very helpful to me once I graduated. The college is very diverse with students from around the country and you get a mix culture of a lot of states which is really fun as you get to meet a lot of them and learn and lot from them.
Entrance Exam
I belong to an old batch and there fore i got admitted based on AIEEE marks. For admission into this college I gave the aieee exam and post clearing it I got a seat. I chose this college a sit is one of the best in the city for technical education
Fees
The fee for the course is around 50k per year. The fee of the college is cheap as compared to other colleges. Also, the quality of education is superior to other colleges in the city.
Placements
Over 90% of the stud nets in my batch got placed. It not only invites the companies to the campus but also provides the students with various skills required during the placement. Like it prepares us with mock interviews and aptitude tests and other skills development training.
Hostel and Facilities
The fee for the hostel was around 30k per year. Back then it was pretty basic facilities like a room and study table, an almirah. The mess food was not that good and every other day we used to eat from outside.
Alumni
The seniors of our batch have been very nice and supportive. They have helped us in our studies and cleared our doubts If we had one. Nit just academic they also have been our career guide in helping us take important decisions about our careers.
Faculty
The faculty at the university are very qualified some of them are graduates of prestigious institutions like IIT and NITs. They also have gthe required teaching and industry experience which makes the course interesting to study. They are very helpful and give extra to students who are slow learners.
Campus Life
The college life was great. We had events, fests, competitions round the year which makes the environment stress free. The gender ratio is almost the same which is great when compared to other colleges. The students can participate in numerous competition and explore their talents. Equal importance is given to academic as well. I like the competitive nature of the students very much it makes a students achieve more than he can think.
Academics
The exam structure is easy going and gives students time to study. There are mid sem and final term but marks are also given based on assignments, class participation, project etc. Marks for attendance is also given. The practical learning is fun and students have to have min attendance in labs as well.
Internships
The college does offer internships. The placement cell is there to take care of internship and placements. Some stipend is also paid. In my internship I was paid around 4k per month. But more than the stipend I learned a lot during my internship period about the practical aspects of study.
Loans and Scholarships
The college offers various scholarships to the needy and study who are very good in academics. I was neither so I did not avail any of the scholarships. For loan you can approach the banks and they will give it some of my friends were studying on education loans.
