Eligibility

To pursue MBA at YMCAUST students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.

The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.

Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.

Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.

Admission Procedure

Selected candidates will be called to attend Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Multiple Group Discussion & Personal Interview lists will be released in phases, both before and after the Application Deadline. The intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail. In the case of some programs, Group Discussion may not be conducted, in favor of a rigorous interview process.

The selection criteria for calling candidates for admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:

  • Past academic performance
  • Quality & content of the answers in the application form
  • Work experience, if any , in terms of job content & organization
  • Group Discussion & Interview performance (applicable for final admissions only)
  • Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
  • Competitive Test score (CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT)

A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be offered final admission. Test scores are NOT the only criteria for selection.

A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.

Student Reviews

  • btech Student

    Remarks

The college is good overall it offers scholarship and other facilities so that the students can study peacefully without any tension. There is also a lot of scope in extra curricular activities in case you are interested there.

    Entrance Exam

I gave IIT JEE mains exams and scored 136 marks in the same. You can get admission through counseling. Interested student must have to apply for it and fill preference of college and stream accordingly. i was able to get the it branch it was quite difficult to get admission but luckily i got the admission

    Fees

The fees structure is mediocre at this college is a state university. Fees is around 1lakh per annum including hostel and mess charges. The college also helps you getting education loan easily available with interest rate

    Placements

Placement is quiet good in our campus but only for cs, it , and mechanical branch the placement rate is 100 percent but for other branches the placement rate is 0 and this year the max package is around 40lakh and average is around 6-7 lakh as placement fully depends on the student not on companies of student is capable the hi or she is definitely going to get the placement

    Hostel and Facilities

The hostel faculty is very good the enviornment of the hostel is amazing everything is being provided by the hostel faculty and the mess food is also very good the provide the quality and healthy food and everything is being provided to the student and the fares are very low

    Alumni

The alumni and the seniors are very good and they are like our family only the are very helpful and they provide every comfort that we want from them

    Faculty

The faculty has been very understanding to me. They have helped throughout my time here and have not created any kind of bias between the students. So you don't have to worry about that.

    Campus Life

The college is active in the extracurricular activities.  There are many extracurricular activities like sports and debates every weekend there is like some competition for students and any student can take part in that and there are exciting prizes also for the student who plays and certificates is given to every student who took part in the competition

    Academics

The exam structure is very very good the system is semester wise in one semester there are two internal exams and practical and then final exam the internals are of 15 marks and the finals are of 75 marks and you have to get 30 marks in final to clear the semester

    Internships

    Loans and Scholarships

Yes there are many scholarship program is like if you are not able to pay the fees of college the college waivers off portion of the fee. But there is thorough check behind that you that you cannot fool the management and take benefit of it.  The college also helps you getting education loan easily available with interest rate

  • btech Student

    Remarks

The college is one of the top ranking universities in the Haryana and therefore i decided to take admission into this. The placement of the college are good but vary from brach to brach as i was a CS student i had no issues during the placement.

    Entrance Exam

Admission to the college is done on the basis of rank obtained in JEE MAINS Examination and admission process is conducted by HSTES .I chose this university over some of the faraway NITs because it is the second best university in Haryana after NIT Kurukshetra and that it has an amazing faculty and student culture

    Fees

Fee structure is very feasible with the entire fee being around 2.5 lakhs for all the 4 years of engineering. The college also had some scholarship programs for students who are very good in studies as well as those who have a hard time paying the fee.

    Placements

Companies for cs it branches recruit majorly for software developer while very less opportunity for an Android developer is there. Some 30-40 companies visit for recruitments with around 90 to 100% students getting placed. The average package that was offered was around Rs 3.5-7 lakhs. The highest package was around Rs 25 lakhs.

    Hostel and Facilities

Hostel facility is good. Rooms are well ventilated and well structured but mess food is not satisfactory but it may vary from person to person. But hostel seats are less. Try to book hostel as early as your seat is allotted do not come on last day for admission because may be chances of getting a hostel reduce and you won't get it. Just beware that you dont get AC rooms here and you have to pay some small amount that is of Rs 500 or so per month and the college autghority will install cooler in your rooms. There are facilities like gyms, clean washrooms, common room with TV, small gardens in hostels, geysers in washrooms, separate study tables and beds for each student in room.

    Alumni

Alumni of YMCAUST are spread over a varied geographical area and are at reputed posts. The university has a Alumni network link on its website wherein the alumni register and come together.

    Faculty

The faculty of the college is really good and help us a lot. The student-faculty ratio of the college is around 1:30 which is decent and varies from course to course. The associate professors, assistant professors too are very good at teaching and teaching methodology of most of the teachers involve interacting with student and making teaching live and learning a fun.

    Campus Life

There is so much to do here all thanks to the numerous clubs which keep on organizing something or the other. Some of the clubs present are for debates, dramatics, singing, western dance, punjabi (bhangra) dance, management clubs, chemistry clubs, computer club etc.

    Academics

    Internships

Although students intern in different companies , the average stipend would be something round Rs 6000 to 8000 while the top stipends go as high as Rs 30,000.

    Loans and Scholarships

  • btech Student

    Remarks

The college is good in most of the things the only bad thing about the college is the infrastructure which is very old and the management should do something about this. But also the good part is that the college is pretty cheap.

    Entrance Exam

I got in through JEE Mains, 178 marks. I opted this as it is very easy to afford economically and it has 100% placement, that too very good jobs with top companies.

    Fees

Very very very Cheap, each semester will cost you around 25k and that too for general category. If someone is from other categories like sc st and obc then fee is less and almost free for those who lie below poverty line. So for general category, almost 2 lakhs is the total fee for b.tech in 4 years.

    Placements

Excellent placements and jobs. Best are in computer science and IT where from 100-120 students, all get placed and 60% students have 2 offers with top 30-40 students have offer around 8 lakhs per annum. Then comes ece and mechanical which also have 100% placement. The average packages offered are relatively low due to lack of industries in north.

    Hostel and Facilities

Hostel facilities are very bad, as it is very cheap also. No coolers or ac or power backup. You will literally cook inside the hostel. But the good thing is there are multiple pg options available just near to college, so not to worry about that. Food stall is not so good, but good and cheap.

    Alumni

Alumni network is quite good. The relations are such that alumni helps in placement by giving preference to our university first. They are is amazingly helpful, as they bring a lot of compies in the college for placement, which help students to get good opportunities in the college.

    Faculty

Apart from few teachers, rest are not focusing much on students neither research. But examination is very good, so at the end the student will have to prepare well before exam. Which ultimately leads to good education. Anyways it is the best college in its area.

    Campus Life

Campus life is amazing, ratio is partial towards female , as female reservation is present. Extracurricular includes cricket, basketball etc. Apart from this sometimes football is also played. Nothing other than this. Labs are good, with computers etc. Library is also decent with a lot of books.

    Academics

Each semester will have 2 sessionals, 1  main exam. Sessionals each of 30 marks each - in final average will be calculated. FInal exam is of 60 marks. Rest 10 marks are given by teacher based on internal assessment which are based on attendance and assignment etc.

    Internships

Yes, I got multiple internships and chose to do the same in STMicroelectronics, where i got 18k as stipend. But internship is only for  6 months

    Loans and Scholarships

Yeah, scholarship to top scholar of each semester has rewarded with the Rs 20000.Sc/st students get complete reimbursement as a reward provided he doesnt get any back papers
