IIM Kozhikode was set up by the government in India. It was the fifth IIM established in the year 1996. Located in the sub-urban area of Kozhikode, it is spread across two hills that are part of the Western Ghats, making it a scenic place to study.

IIM Kozhikode Executive MBA (EPGP) Overview

MBA Program

The IIM Kozhikode Executive MBA program (formerly EPGP) is a 2-year course leading to an MBA awarded by the institute. This is a master’s degree course. The program is disseminated mainly through Interactive Learning (IL) platform and classroom learning through In-campus modules.

The course has over 750 class hours of lecture held by online lectures. Generally the course entails 1-2 classes on the weekdays, and 1-2 classes on the weekends, to suit the working class professionals. The candidate must attend classes from any of the designated centers given here:

Course Structure

The Executive MBA course is split into four terms/seven quarters. Each academic year usually begins in November/December, and the duration of the EPGP course is formally divided into three modules as follows:

The Executive MBA program has two modules –

Interactive Learning (IL) Module

Interactive module allows students to take virtual classes from a centers located in their city. This offers them flexibility to continue education without leaving their job. The interactive learning centers are being managed by Times Professional Learning, a division of Times Group.

In-Campus Module

The students need to visit IIM Kozhikode campus for in-campus module. This is a mandatory part of the course. The MBA program has 3 campus modules while executive certificate programs have only one such module. Each module is 6 days long.

How to apply?

To apply for the course, the candidate needs to following procedures, as specified below:

1. Register online on the institute website and generate the application number. Candidates must login using the password and application number to fill in the application form.
2. Complete the application and pay application fee online. Application form needs to be submitted within 7 days since the fee payment.
3. The applicant must print 2 copies of the application form, sign them and send them to following address –

Documents to be submitted –

• SSC/HSC marksheets and certificates
• Degree certificate and individual marksheets
• Experience Certificate
• A valid photo identity proof (Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/AADHAR Card)

Candidate need to submit a self attested copy along with the originals of above documents during the campus module.

Admission Procedure For Executive MBA

The admission to the Interactive Learning course is based on the following:

• Performance in the CAT/GMAT/EMAT Entrance Test (Executive Management Aptitude test held by IIM Kozhikode)
• Profile Evaluation and Personal Interview

Candidates having a minimum score of 650 on the GMAT Entrance exam, and minimum of 75 percentile on the CAT entrance exam score will be directly considered for interview without the EMAT. The EMAT is an objective type examination, based on similar lines to other entrance exams. It will be held in the following locations throughout the country:

The results of the admission will be announced on the website, and the students are advised to check the website frequently.

Candidates with minimum 75 percentile in CAT or 650 score in GMAT or 25% in EMAT will be shortlisted for personal interview. Candidate will be given score for their performance in personal interview. Those who score minimum 25% in the interview will be considered. A final short list will be prepared based on combined score in EMAT and Personal Interview.

Successful candidates will be provisionally shortlisted. An offer letter will be issues to each candidate. Candidates need to sign the offer letter and pay the fee to secure the admission.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum criteria for admission into the IIM Kozhikode Executive MBA (EPGP) course is a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA and 3 years of work-experience.

Detailed eligibility criteria is –

• A bachelor’s degree from any of the recognized institute or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum aggregate score of 50% or equivalent CGPA.
  For SC, ST and PWD candidates, minimum aggregate score is 40% or equivalent CGPA.
• 3 years of Managerial/Professional/ entrepreneurial experience after successful completion of graduation as on date of submission of application.

Placements

The institute does not provide any kind of formal placement assistance for this course as most of the course is delivered through online live lectures, offered through a technology platform of HUGHES Global Education. However, the course is AMBA accredited and widely renowned, and also gives the student the IIM brandname, and helps in job placements.

The 2 year executive MBA program is accredited by AMBA.

How to Apply

Candidate need to apply online and submit the application along with the application fee. Then they need to send 2 signed copies of the application form to the institute.

Admission Procedure

Based on the application form, candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Candidates will be informed about their date of interview by SMS and email. Interview will be conducted online at the learning center. The final selection will depend on

Results of final selection will be published on the institute website and selected candidates will also be informed by email and SMS.
