Savitribai Phule Pune University, Department of Management Studies (PUMBA), was founded in the year of 1971. The institute is recognized by NAAC and has been ranked the highest “A” grade with a 5 star rating.

Pune university is also recognized by UGC as a University with Potential of Excellence.

PUMBA offers various MBA programs including an Executive MBA for its students.

PUMBA Executive MBA Overview

PUMBA offers a 2 year executive MBA for working executives and entrepreneurs. Any working executive a valid graduate degree and 3 years of work-experience is eligible to pursue this course. The institute makes it mandatory to attend at least 75% of the classes.

Course Structure

The Executive MBA offered by PUMBA is a 2-year course conducted in the evening (6:30pm to 9:30pm) in the weekdays.

The course is divided into 4 terms of 6-months each. Each semester has 5 courses.

The course allows for the student specialization in any of the following subjects: Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management (HRM), Operations Management, Systems Management and International Business Management.

How to Apply?

To apply for admissions into the Executive MBA course at PUMBA, the applicant must register his account with the username and password and submit the application through the online portal. The last date of submission of application for the 2022 batch is 31st August 2022.

The student must fill in the application form online, submit the application form.

The candidate must pay the fee for Online Entrance Exam (OEE) fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.350 for reserved category students). The application fee of Rs.1,000/- also needs to be paid. Fee can be paid either through Debit Card/ Credit Card or netbanking.

The candidate need not send the submitted application to the university. But original documents need to be produced for verification –

• Online Payment Receipt.
• Marksheet or certificate for class 10 and 12
• Marks Statement of bachelor’s and / or master’s Degree (Graduation/PG)
• Experience Certificates from Employer(s) for experience earned at Managerial Level only after graduation.
• Last 3yrs IT Returns (Form 16) for Experience.
• Documents of Registration of Business showing name of the applicant (for Entrepreneurs)
• Caste Certificate & Caste Validity Certificate (for reserved category candidates)
• Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for all reserved categories except SC/ST) valid for current year
• Domicile and nationality certificate
• Migration certificate (if applicable)
• Gap certificate if applicable
• Profile (A brief 1 page profile)
• Salary slip
• TC
• No-objection certificate from the employer

Admission and Selection Procedure

The students must appear for an entrance exam, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview, to be screened for admission into the course. Profile of the candidate and career goals will be also be considered during the selection process.

Pune University Executive MBA Entrance Exam

The Entrance exam is of 200 marks and has multiple choice questions The exam contains the following topics:

• Arithmetical Ability
• Data Interpretation
• Verbal & Non-verbal Reasoning
• General Mental Ability
• Logical Deduction

The exam has two sections –

Section A – This section tests the students on English and Verbal ability, Logical Reasoning, and General Knowledge. The total marks of this section are 20.

Section B – This section tests the student’s ability in English and Verbal Ability, Comprehension, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, and Business Awareness. Total marks of the section are 80.

The exam has negative marking – each correct answer will get 1 mark and a wrong answer will result into deduction of 1/3 mark.

Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the exam.

Reservation of Seats

Out of the total intake of 60 students, 50% of the seats are filled as per statutory reservations as specified only by the Maharashtra Government.

The final merit list of the selected students are published on the official website, and no other intimation will be given to the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission into the Executive MBA course at PUMBA the student needs to satisfy the following admission criteria:

• The candidate must be a graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate from any recognized university in any discipline (45% for reserved category students)
• The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the managerial / executive level at the time of application. Work experience only after graduation will be considered.
• Entrepreneurs with sizeable business and relevant experience are also eligible. given that firm should be registered in their name

Scholarships

The institute does not offer any kind of scholarships to its students, and requires its students to pay the entire course fee.

Fee Structure

The annual fee for executive MBA program from Pune University (PUMBA) is Rs. 76,594/- for students from Maharashtra and Rs. 77,094/- for students from outside of Maharashtra.

The total course fee for two years is approximately Rs.1,52,000/-

The course fee may be revised by the university without any due notice. The course fee essentially includes, cost of tuition, admission fee, course material, library facilities, etc.
