Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal is an autonomous management institute established in 1982 by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. This institute provides management courses which includes management subjects, forestry, and development studies.
Courses conducted by IIFM are:
- Post Graduate Diploma in Forest Management (PGDFM)
- M. Phil. in Natural Resource Management (MRM) and
- Fellow Program in Management (FPM) equivalent to Ph. D
Admission to IIFM is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in CAT or XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test). Additionally, IIFM also conducts Group Discussions, Micro Presentation, and Personal Interview. Reservation is in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Government of India.
The institute is spread across 217 acres and provides facilities like computer center, library, hostel, and mess etc. Companies like FinoPaytech, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and government departments like Madhya Pradesh Forest Department (MPFD) etc. come for placements in IIFM with average package being ₹6.97LPA and highest package being ₹11.15 LPA.

Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
Indian Institute of Forest Management provides with hostel accommodation for boys and girls. There are total 3 hostels with total 112 well furnished rooms. The rooms are double seated in every hostel. There is indoor stadium to play Badminton as well as TT in every hostel.
There is a common room where students can sit and watch TV. Beside this, there is also facility of solar geysers to provide students with hot water. There is also Internet facility and gym facility provided to the students within the hostel.
The hostel mess provides a diet plan for students. The mess is run by the Student’s Mess Committee. It looks for the diet plan and also manages special diet plans during Sunday and special occasions as well.
Campus Facilities
The students are provided with various other facilities. There is a free medical check-up done as the doctor visit the campus on ever alternate days. There are three guest rooms in the campus to arrange stay for the parents with charges.
There is also an outdoor ground to play cricket and football. There is also a sports complex which accommodates volleyball court, Lawn Tennis court, swimming pool, and much more.

Eligibility:
To pursue FPM at IIFM students must satisfy following eligibility criteria.
* The maximum age limit is 45 years as on 1st July of the 1st year of the commencement of the academic year.more
* Masters degree ( Minimum two years prescribed duration after 10+2+3 years of formal education in relavent discipline with at least 60% marks in Masters dergree.

Candidates who have already obtained a PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of OGPA of 3.33 (B+), need not take CAT and can apply directly.
