Maharaja Ganga Singh University (formerly known as University of Bikaner) is located in Rajasthan and was established in the year 2003. It is an eminent institution which marks a milestone in the tertiary education of Rajasthan.

Application and Admission Procedure

How to apply

The MGSU offers UG, PG, MPhil, PGDM and PHd courses. The Bachelor level courses are in the following streams: Arts, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Law and Education.

The application to any of the courses can be made through online and offline methods.

Online method: Students can apply online on the university’s website and pay through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. For this students would need a scanned passport sized photograph and s scanned signature.

Offline method: In the offline method Students are required to download forms relevant to the streams they’ve chosen and fill it with correct details. Then they must affix their passport sized photograph in the appropriate space. The forms must be submitted at the campus office with the fee in cash or by DD.

These documents must be attached before the final submission:

• Attested copy of marksheets
• Entrance exams Score/Rank card
• Attested copy of marksheets and certificates of intermediate
• Original copies of the Transfer and Character certificates
• Attested copies of Caste/Category certificates
• Original Migration certificate
• Original Income certificate

Admission procedure

For admission into undergraduate courses the eligibility criteria is based on merit. Students require a minimum of 50% in 10+2.

For the PG level courses candidate must have passed the relevant BA degree exam. Further on the eligibility criteria set by the university must be followed.

For admission in MPhil and PHd courses students must clear the MPhil PhD Combined Entrance Test (MPCET).

For admission into diploma courses candidates must have a degree in the relevant subject.

Hostel and Facilities

Campus Facility-

Maharaja Ganga Singh University is situated in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The campus is often termed as “an oasis of knowledge in the desert area of Rajasthan”. The campus provided interactive classrooms and high tech departmental laboratories. The university has a well-designed library with a full stock of latest book. Other facilities available are cafeteria, gymnasium, workshop, guest house, and sports arena.

Hostel Facility-

Hostel facilities are not provided on campus. However off-campus accommodation facility is available. The provision is also done for students coming from far off places, which are more than 15 km. HRA is provided for students staying in off-campus accommodation. And the day scholars from far off places are provided with bus fee and other transportation facilities.

Student Activity-

The student activities on campus are sports meet, international and national seminars, debates, cultural events, conference and literary activities.
