Amity University was established in 2010 by the Madhya Pradesh Act by the Govt. of MP. It is a private university located in Gwalior, MP and is founded by the Amity Group.
The university offers courses in various fields and awards undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees. The distinguishing feature of the university is that it offers higher education in both traditional-modern and distance mode. It makes sure that education is imparted even on those who cannot pursue regular courses.
Admission into the courses offered by the university is on entrance test, merit and personal interview. It is to be noted that students who have scored 80+ aggregate in their class 12th examination or equivalent won’t be required to be part of the selection process.
Students who wish to apply for the 2018 session can apply online.
The average package is around 7 lakhs and top companies include- Bank of America, Adobe, Hero Motorcap, American Express, British Petroleum and Coca-cola.
Application and Admission Procedure
All the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the Amity University, Gwalior require a minimum of 60% score in prior academic performances.
Interested candidates can apply using any of the below methods:
- Candidates can register in the online portal, upload the soft copy of all the relevant documents and make an online payment of Rs.1100/-.
- Candidates can download the application form, take printout, fill in all the details and submit/mail to the respective campus, along with all the documents and a Demand draft of Rs.1100/- drawn in favour of ‘Amity Form’ payable at New Delhi.
- Students can also buy the admission pack directly from one of the Amity campuses or Amity Information Centres by paying Rs.1100/-. The form can be submitted to the campus with the necessary documents.
The necessary documents required are a passport size photo, 10+2 mark sheets (for UG admissions), Semester mark sheets/Degree Certificate (for PG admissions).
Upon selection, the candidates will be called on for the written test and/or the group discussion round, after which the admission offer will be made for the selected students.
Students who have obtained more than 80% in their 10+2 or UG, will be exempted from the written test/GD round.
The candidates interested in the B.Tech courses, should write the Amity Joint Entrance Examination(JEE), conducted in the month of April or May.

The University contains around 430 classrooms that are air-conditioned, smart learning enabled and have been built in amphitheatre style. They also contain 50 spacious syndicate rooms that provide students a place to discuss, brainstorm, learn and evolve. There is a Super market, L’Oreal salon, Stationery shop, Bookshop and laundry services on the campus making life easier for students.
There are around 9 Sport academies established by the Amity University providing training in Cricket, Tennis, Polo & Riding, Hockey, Shooting, and Chess. The College has high standard sports complex that is spread across 15 acres of land with modern infrastructure and a well equipped Gymnasium.

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.
Minimum marks for admission into law courses -
1) 40% for SC/ST candidates
2) 45% for other candidates
Remarks
My overall college experience was good but the academic schedule of the college can be tiring at times. From morning to evening we have to constantly attend the lectures.
Entrance Exam
The admission into the btech program of the amity is based on the Jee mains, cet or other popukar entrance test. The university conducts its own entrance test called the amcat. I got admitted through amcat and then a personal interview. Also one of my friends who had scored 85% in class 12th got direct admission into the colleges.
Fees
The fee for the college is expensive as compared to other colleges in the city. The hostel fee is around 40k and the room is to be shared with 2-3 ppl. The food is cheap at the hostel but the quality of the food is not great.
Placements
The placement of the university is good. The best part about amity is that all the students of amity irrespective of the campus get to sit for the placements at amity noida, where over 300 companies visit everyday. Around 95% of the students from my batch got placed. Some of the popular companies are wipro, tcs, ford, niit tech.
Hostel and Facilities
I reside in the city itself so I do not have much info about the hostel but I have friends living there who are pretty much satisfied. The rooms are provided on sharing basis where 2-3 students live together. The food of the canteen is eatable and students have the option of eating outside too. The hostel also has a gym and other sports facilities.
Alumni
The seniors are very helpful once you get to know them and are also very understanding. Though, through my interaction with them, they all seem to be very supportive and have helped me in many occasions regarding assignment and even career advices.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is professional and at the same time are humble and understanding. The teachers are unbiased and do not just give marks on face-value. You have to earn each and every mark but attending lectures and labs and completing and submitting the assignments on time.
Campus Life
There are always events and competition going on at amity. An annual sports fest is organized at amity named sanghatan it covers a lot of sports and is held across all amity campuses and the final is held at the noida campus.
Academics
The exam structure is semester based. There mid sem and end sem exams along with assignments and practical. Students should maintain a good attendance.
Internships
Yes, the college provides internships with stipends. I personally believe everyone should do internships as they provide you with required exposure and real life cases which you will never get in classroom teaching. The stipend and duration of the internship varies company to company.
Loans and Scholarships
The scholarship is offered to the students based on his marks in class 12th or once admitted, on semester scores. Those who have more than 95% in class 12th get full scholarship for the first sem and if their performance continues the scholarship continues.. have Student who have more than 8 cgpa have a higher chance of getting scholarships.
Remarks
Overall the college is great just the management is a bit strict with rules like taking an outpass everytime you go out of the campus, dress code (No uniform though). The college crowd is great as well as the facilities provided are top notch. The alumni network is very strong.
Entrance Exam
If you score more than 85% in your class 12th exam you are given admission directly other students who have scored below that have to appear for an entrance test. Fpr some courses the management also takes a casual interview. Overall I don’t think so there is any difficulty in getting admitted in this college.
Fees
Being a private university, the fee of the college is a bit expensive. Though for me it was okay. Those who cannot afford can also go for educational loans. The placements are good so its good ROI.
Placements
The college has a dedicated cell which takes care of the placement of the styudnets. They even organize pre placement mock interview and help us other development skills which are required to crack a job interview. A few companies are icici bank, flipkart, oberoi, genpact, imb etc. The package depnds on the company but if you are an average student you can get around 4 lakhs and upwards.
Hostel and Facilities
Being a day scholar I don’t have much info on hostel of amity. Bit I had a lot of frinds who stayed there. They had all the basic facilties and most importantly the food of the mess was satisfactory. The rooms were spacious as per them and they had a lot of fun there.
Alumni
Alumni meet are organized and I met a few of them who are very succeful today. They told a lot abpout the industry the things I didn’t knew. It helped me a lot during my placements. My seniors were just like big brothers who helped in every step of my college life.
Faculty
The faculty is well knowledged and come from top notch colleges like IIT and IIM. They had a lot of experience but the management has a lot of unnecessary rules whioch should be removed. The faculty was very patient with me as I was slow learner and I could even reach out to them after class and they were always helpful.
Campus Life
The campus has a lot of ppl and from various states so you get to meet a lot of ppl. Again if they just tone down a few rules we can have more fun here. Also, ppl here small thinking as it still small town but its not the fault of the college and I don’t think they can do anything about this.
Academics
Just like other college we also had semsters. But the exams were not that hectic and enough time was given to prepare. If you regularly study you can easily pass the exams. Just make sure attndamce of atleast 75% is there otherewise you can get into trouble.
Internships
Yes, it provides internships to students but most of them are unpaid they just give you a ccertificate and other documents . You can also choose your internship outside too if you want.
Loans and Scholarships
Amity provides scholarships upto 100% for students who have scored very well in their class 12th or entrance test. Some sports quota scholarships is also given to state and national level players. Based on MAT and cat score also you can get some scholarship. Some banks have tie up with the college and you can get loan from them.
