Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is a state university established in the year 2010 by the Government of Kerala. It is located in thescenic hilly terrain of Pookot in Wayanad district, Kerala, India.The territorial jurisdiction of the university extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. The univeristy aims to provide further education, research and extension services in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The university has research stations at Thumbermuzhi, Thiruvazhamkunnu and Mannuthy. TheGovernment of Kerala has established Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University to give emphasis to education, research and development in the livestock sector.Since this is a newly established university, improvement of infrastructure facilities is of paramount importance.
