The Government College of Engineering, Amravati (GCOEA) was established in the year 1964 and it is among one of the oldest colleges in Maharashtra. It is an autonomous institution and is of private type.
The college has affiliation of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and is also approved by NBA. The motto of the college symbolizes ‘Towards Global Technological Excellence’.
The college has been ranked 28th in Outlook India’s ‘Top 100 Engineering Colleges’. The college was ranked 68th by Dataquest. The college has highly skilled faculty, and it’s worth taking admission in the college.
It offers PhD courses in Civil, Mechanical, electronic, electrical, thermal, computer science. The college receives regular funding from AICTE and DST.
GCOEA offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has in total seven branches.

Application and Admission Procedure
How to apply:
The candidates interested to study in Government College of Engineering in Amravati need to fill the application form ONLINE as well as OFFLINE. The application form is available on the official website of the institute.
The application form can be obtained in person as well as
offline; by sending a demand draft of the amount of application form.
The application form fees can be paid by Net banking, through credit card/debit card or through demand draft issued in favour of the institute.
Admission Procedure:
The Government College of Engineering conducts aptitude test for various programs for the candidates who are interested to study in the institute.
After successfully clearing the aptitude test, the candidate needs to visit the institute for further counselling and admission procedure. The students are instructed to carry all the certificates at the time of counselling.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
The G.C.O.E Amravati provides a comfortable accommodation in the campus to its students. It has 2 boys hostel: Satpuda Boys Hostel and Sahyadri Boys Hostel, and two girls’ hostel: Jijaoo Girls Hostel and New Girls Hostel.
The Satpura and Sahyadri hostel have a capacity of intake of 180. The intake capacity of Jijaoo Girls hostel is 250 while that of New Girls Hostel is 160. The application for hostel can be submitted at the time of admission by the interested candidates.
Gymkhana
The college through the gymkhana encourages the students to participate in various sport and cultural activities.
The gymkhana has facilities for sports like cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, KhoKho, kabaddi, basketball, hockey, softball to name a few.
It also has a fully equipped music room for all the students interested in the art.
Central Library
The central library is one of the best academic libraries in the area. It has a collection of 70,000 books that provide a world class information support to the students. It is also equipped with online databases, thesis, reports that can be easily accessed by both students and the faculty.
