Pachhunga University College Aizawl

Pachhunga university college is a part of collegiate formed under Mizoram university, which is a central university formed by an act of parliament. This college was founded in 1958 and till date it remains the only college in Mizoram providing undergraduate and post graduate courses infield of arts, science, and commerce.

It has a 136-acre campus covered with lush green vegetation on the eastern side of Aizwal city. This prestigious institution has been awarded Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra (IPVM) in 1995 from Ministry of Environment and Forests for its novel research contribution in the waste management and afforestation.

Pachhunga university college has been accredited by NAAC(National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with Grade ‘A+’ and CGPA of 3.51 out of 4 by the committee involved and it also has an accredited authorization of NIRF(National Institute Ranking Framework). Application and Admission Procedure

How to apply?

Filling of admission form of Pachhunga University College is conducted online. Aspirants need to visit the official site and get register themselves after the registration process, the application form will available fill it with all correct details, upload your photo, signature and other documents that are needed.

Lastly pay the application fee by using online payment to complete the submission of application form.

Admission Procedure

The university takes admission only on the basis of merit. College release many cut offs and students are called according to them, students should bring one passport size photograph original and attested copies of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and HSSLC mark sheet at the time of admissions.

Selection criteria for admission:

1. Marks obtained in HSSLC (total marks obtained divided by full mark x 80) will be given 80% weightage.
2. Marks obtained in HSLC (total marks obtained divided by full mark x 20) will be given 20% weightage.
3. If any aspirant has studied core subject he/ she will be given the advantage of 5% of marks obtained.

Candidates are allotted admissions based on the total score obtained in the above.

CAMPUS FACILITIES

The university is spread over 99 acres of land.

The university provides library, tutorial spaces, seminar halls, labs, botanical garden, herbarium, zoological museum, sports complexes, shuttle system, game courts and many more.

HOSTEL

Separate hostels are provided for both boys and girls along with mess facility and WIFI connectivity with good electricity and water supply.

Students has various scholarships like Ishan Uday (UGC), BPL (UGC), tribal (ministry of Tribal Affairs), science merit scholarship (Govt. of Mizoram), some college funded scholarships like Sitaram Jindal foundation scholarship for rural meritorious students, Sunflower Electronics fellowship for Mathematics and Physics, Zoram Educational Trust Fellowship for Physics.

STUDENT LIFE

The university has the following clubs red ribbon, environmental, cultural, adventure, chess, PUC fitness, innovation club.

The university provides merit awards to the top students in different departments and also provides ‘student aid fund’ for students who are in need of funds. For backward students “Earn while learn” schema is introduced.

To help students there is student union too and has NCC and NSS departments for interested students.
