COLLEGE PROFILE

Institute of Engineering and Management is a private engineering and management school located in Kolkata, Institute of Engineering and Management was established in 1989. It is the oldest private engineering college in the state. The institute has been awarded ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Divided into three different campuses for engineering, management and IT, the college has all the modern facilities for the students.

The admissions to various courses offered by the college are made strictly on the basis of merit. For admission to undergraduate courses, the students must qualify either West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or Joint Entrance Examination (Main). For admission to postgraduate courses offered in management, admissions are made on the basis of ranks secured in CAT or JEMAT.

The campus is fully residential with hostel facilities for all the students. The college has a dedicated training and placement cell to help students find decent jobs after completing the course. Various companies like Cognizant, HCL, ICICI Bank, Asian Paints etc. visit the campus every year to recruit the students for various job profiles.

Application and Admission Procedure

Admission Process

The candidates must qualify the 10+2 examination in order to take admissions in the institute of engineering and management. The candidates will also have to appear for the West Bengal joint entrance examination and JEE mains in order to be eligible for the admission.

For the admissions into MBA and PGDM, the candidates will have to clear the CAT and JEMAT.

How to apply

• In order to apply for the examination, the candidates need to visit the online website of the institute.
• The direct link to the online application form will be available. The students need to fill the form with all the accurate details.
• The next step after the filling of all the online application form is to upload the following documents-
• scanned photograph and signature as per the dimensions specified. The maximum size of the photo can be up to 20kb and it should be in jpg format.
• The Class X – Admit Card and Mark sheet.
• Class XII – Admit Card and Mark sheet.
• WBJEEB Counseling Final Allotment Paper  (Received from WBJEEB Reporting Centre).
• 6 copies Color Passport Size Photographs should be taken along during the counselling sessions.
• The next step is to make the payment as per the mode specified. The students need to pay 2000INR via the demand draft in favour of “INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & MANAGEMENT TRUST” payable at Kolkata or through cash where the copy of PAN will be required.
• The payment process marks the completion of the application process. The printouts of the application form should be taken out for future reference.

Hostel and Facilities

Campus facilities

The campus of the Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata is located in the prestigious Electronics complex, Sector-V, Salt Lake. Most of the top IT firms have their corporate offices present here.

The campus is ultra modern with audio visual pedagogy in the classrooms and computer laboratories with24*7 uninterrupted Wi-Fi. The library has over 2,50,000 books , journals, e-journals and magazines along with multimedia infrastructure.

Hostel facilities

IEM has limited seats in their hostels for both boys and girls. The hostels have excellent security and strict discipline so as to ensure total safety of its students. The canteens provide varied food for all students.

Student life

IEM regularly organizes workshops, seminars, industrial events and training and various college festivals and sports meet for the overall development of the students and arranges student exchange programs with global universities.

In 2018, IEM students participated in pan India technical institute festivals such as ASME-E-FEST Asia Pacific,DTU,Delhi and in IIT Dhanbad and in Innovation 2018.
