The college was established in the year 1980 as Manipal Institute of Management. In the year 1981 it was renamed to T.A. Pai Management Institute in honour of the founder of the college. The college offers the following programmes:
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management
- Post Graduate Diploma in health care
- Post Graduate Diploma in M-Banking and Financial Services
- The college also offers exchange programmes as a part of its as a part of its MoU signed with Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia on April 28, 2015.
- It offers Ph.D. programmes as well as long term and short term executive programmes for working individuals.
The college promises excellent infrastructure to its students including well stocked libraries, well equipped labs, superior sports facilities, affordable yet hygienic eateries etc. and much more.
The admission process to the college is two staged where candidates are first shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam and in the second stage written test, group discussion and personal interview is conducted.
The college also boasts of a very impressive placement record with almost 93% conversions in Pre-Placement offers either from their summer internship organizations or through various B-school competitions.

HOSTEL AND FACILITIES
Located in Karnataka, T.A Pai Management Institute provides excellent facilities and infrastructure to its students. 5 separate hostel blocks are present for male and female students. All the hostels are well equipped with state of the art facilities. Air-conditioned double and single rooms are present. Each room has an attached bathroom and 24 hour hot water facility. A few guest rooms are also available to house parents and other visitors.
The campus is environment-friendly with lush green trees and plants. Canteen has the necessary infrastructure and a modern kitchen.
The college has a well maintained library with a large variety of text and reference books. It has a good collection of national and international journals too. Students can get all the course related books issued from the library.
The classrooms are well equipped with projector screens, air conditioners and desks. A spacious auditorium to hold various expert talks and seminars is also present in the campus. Extensive courts and fields are also present for sports enthusiasts.
