Institute of Mass Communication Film & Television Studies, Kolkataa non-profit society, is registered under societies Act, XXVI of 1961, Govt. of West Bengal in the year 2002.The Institute functions in affiliation with the University of Kalyani and approved by the Department of Higher Education (Government of West Bengal) and University Grants Commission. Doctor Pabitra Sarkar is the President of this Institute.
It has created the opportunity for the students to study at U.K. for B.A. (Hons.) Degree course in Creative Media Production from Middlesex University, London.The certificates are approved by the Indian Educational Board.
The Institute has signed an institutional membership with the British Council of India and associate membership with the Indus Foundation of USA.
The institute has industrial association with Tata Motors,Tata Steel Processing & Distribution Ltd. and wishes to make an association withIndian Oil ,SAIL & many others.In the process of visits to CSR projects the institute has also developed close relations with different NGO bodies to visit their projects in remote villages to study the activities and the success of Self Help Group.
