National Institute of Fashion Technology is one of the leading fashion colleges in India which was established in the year 1986 under the sponsorship of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is an institute of technology, design, management, and technology for the international fashion business industry.
The objective of the institute is to provide the students an exposure to the fashion world and industry globally. NIFT was granted a statutory status in the year 2006 and it empowers to award degrees and other academic distinctions to the students in the best possible way.
It is a public university with its headquarters located in New Delhi. The urban campus covers all the basic amenities for the students including the hostel and the transport facilities.
The institute is affiliated to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The institute is one of the best fashion schools in India. It was ranked 19th in the fashion schools all over India in the year 2017. It offers four-year undergraduate, as well as two-year post-graduate, programmes in design, management, and technology.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
National Institute of Fashion Technology provides hostel facilities for boys and girls. The availability of hostel for boys is not in each branch of NIFT. The hostel provides students with 24 hr running electricity and water.
There are two wardens in every hostel to ensure the safety of students and to look for their well-being. There is also RO purifier to provide students with cool and fresh drinking water, Wi-Fi facility, and common room as well.
The hostel mess consists of a diet plan which is followed every day. On special occasions and Sundays, there is a change in diet plan to provide students with a change in the diet.
Campus Facilities
The students are offered with various other facilities. There is a facility of Health care in the campus. Students are offered with free medical services.
There are workshop labs where students can work on projects and assignments. There is availability of library where there are various books and subscription to many fashion magazines as well.
There is an auditorium where all cultural events are held and class rooms consist of AC as well as projects to enhance the learning experience.
