The Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune, is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Private Deemed University) since 2002, and was established in 1978. It got its permanent affiliation in 1990 from Pune University. It is an award-winning business schooland is ranked amongst the top of the country and of Asia.
The Institute offers MBA and MBA (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) programs, an Executive MBA program, as well as a PG Diploma program in several fields.
The admission into the various MBA programs in on the basis of merit marks scored in Class 12 and the candidate’s Bachelor’s degree respectively. The Institute additionally conducts its own entrance exam, the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test, for admission into these courses.
SIBM Pune’s state-of-the-art residential campus is located in Lavale village, Pune, and houses the SIU office and various trust offices, along with facilities such as a central library, auditorium, conference hall, canteen, health care centre, swimming pool as well as teaching & non-teaching staff housing. They also provide accommodation for outstation students at a nominal fee.
Application and Admission Procedure
The candidate must have been graduated from any of the statutory university with at least 50% marks and 45% (SC/ST) marks. The candidates who are appearing for the final year examination can also apply. The candidates need to appear in entrance test SNAP for admissions to PG programs.
HOW TO APPLY
- The students need to log on to the official website and register for the examination online and make a payment of 1000INR along with GST. The candidates needs to preserve admit card and other details (like SNAP ID, email, contact) for future reference.
- The candidates need to bring in the admit card before appearing in the selection process.
- After the score list is out, the short listed candidates will be called for the selection process which includes Group Exercise, Personal Interview & Written Ability Test (GE-PIWAT).
- On the basis of all the rounds admission is provided.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel
There are hostels located in the college campus and hostel charges stand around Rs 60,000 – 70,000 including the mess charges. Single rooms as well as sharing rooms are available in the hostel. In the hostels, the students are provided with all the basic amenities.
The Foreign Student cell helps the students with their hostel requirements.
Campus facilities
The college provides infrastructure that is productive and useful for students.The campus is spread over an area of 300 acres and the whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled.There is one central library, digital classrooms, auditorium, labs, cafeteria, mess, healthcare, gym, Zumba, yoga, indoor games, outdoor games, bicycle riding and more facilities.
Several activity clubs and societies are started by the institute so that students can give equal importance to extracurricular activities also. Some of the activity clubs are

Time to time the Symbiosis Institute organizes many festivals and events in which students participate. Some of the fests include OLYMPUS, RENDEZVOUS ARCTURUS, WHIPLASH 2.0, MARK-O-POLO, SYMPOSIUM, TRANSCEND, ENCORE WEST, SENATE, LEGACY, and SPL X.
