Saroj Mohan Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a co-educational private college established in the year 2003, operating its engineering department as a joint venture with the Techno India Group (TIG). It is located in Guptipura, West Bengal.

The college is approved by All India council for technical education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of technology (MAUKAT) and West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

The college offers undergraduate and post graduate courses, such as-

For admission into the college, the candidate should have pass 10+2 from any recognized board along with descent JEE scores.

College provides facilities such as hostel for both boys and girls, Wi-Fi equipped computer labs, well maintained audio visual supportive classrooms, library with online journals, basketball court, badminton court, theatre and singing as co-curricular.

How to Apply

For admission to various undergraduate courses of the college a candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of 45% marks.

Online application: Candidates can obtain application form on the college’s website of through email contact with the college’s admission in charge. After filling relevant data and attaching proper documents payment can be made either directly online using internet banking, or through demand draft in the favor of “SAROJ MOHAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY”.

Offline method: The candidates can directly visit the college to get the application form and submit it directly there, or via post along with a demand draft for application fee payment.

Admission Procedure

Admissions for B.Tech courses are done on the basis of WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) held in the month of May. Admission for other undergraduate courses is done by merit basis as per class 12^th marks.

Hostel and Facilities

CAMPUS FACILITIES

There is a round-the-clock Wi-Fi facility pertaining to a speed of 4MBps for the students and the staffs from the college, hostel, Guest House and faculty houses thereby helping them to carry out the e-mail, net surfing, up/down loading of web based application, besides helping them in preparing projects & seminars easily.

The air-conditioned, fully-functional auditorium has a seating capacity of 410 people. Numerous cultural programmes, lectures and college annual function are conducted here with the help of a multi-functional lighting arrangement and an efficient audio-visual system.

The college comprises of 3 playgrounds located in the centre of the campus, in front of the college building and adjacent to the hostel respectively with an indoor-outdoor sports facility.

The multi-gym comprises of 9 stations with a state-of-the art equipment and is considered as the backbone of the sports centre.

Ambulance services are provided to the students during the college hours though the hostellers are given these services 24*7 in case of any emergency.
