Mata Gujri College Fatehgarh Sahib

The College is situated at the historical town of Fatehgarh Sahib, a district head quarter about 4 kilometers from Sirhind Railway Station. Mata Gujri College was founded in 1957 to commemorate the supreme martyrdom of Mata Gujri, the revered mother of the Tenth Master, Guru Gobind Singh. Facing the historic shrine of Fatehgarh Sahib, a living testimony of the unique sacrifice of the two younger Sahibzadas, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh who were bricked alive by the tyrannical Mughal rulers, the college was built brick by brick by its founders.

Bibi Gurbachan Kaur Mann, the founder of the college was a lady of great determination and dedication & vision whose sole ambition was to promote higher education in the area. Starting on a humble scale, the college now boasts of a sprawling campus spread over more than 25 acres.

The college was taken over by the S.G.P.C.,Amritsar in 1964. The College is under the overall management of S.G.P.C. Panth Ratan, Late Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra who remained the president of the college managing committee as well as the SGPC for a record period of more than 25 years was the main spirit behind the overall development of the college in various fields of education.

A man with a deep religious bent of mind,visionary & dynamic leader S. Avtar Singh, President SGPC, is the president ,College Governing Body. A senior Akali leader and eminent social worker S Ranjit Singh Libra is Addl. Secretary,Local Managing Committee. The college is bound to make rapid strides in every field under the worthy leadership of such personalities.

The college has a huge campus comprising of Admn Block,Life Sciences Block, Management and Computer Science Block,Commerce Block, Science Block, Arts Block and Girls Wing.The college has eight well equipped computer labs with latest computers.Campus is fully Wi Fi enabled.College is having Fully AC well stocked library with more than 55,000 Books, a sports Stadium with all modern amenities, a well furnished canteen, separate boys hostel and Girls hostel and required parking facilities. The college owns four buses to transport students from cities like Chandigarh, Patiala, Panchkula,Amloh,Mandi Gobindgarh,Khanna and some other areas. Lush lawns interspersed with eye-catching flowers and ornamental trees welcome the entrants in the College.

The college is committed to offer quality education to its students and to assist them in discovering their leadership qualities and to fulfill their educational goals.
