Anna University offers online MBA, MCA and M.Sc (Computer Science Programmes through Distance learning mode since 2007).
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The application/registration process for admission into the courses offered by the institute is provided below-
- Visit the official website and click on the “Application form”
- To access the application form you need to register yourself. Click On “New User” and you will be directed to the registration form.
- Once registered, use the login Id and password to fill the application form.
- After filling the form, click on “Save” button and take a print out of the form
- Send the application form along with the Demand Draft to:

Application Fee
The application forms for the Program can be obtained from the official website by paying an amount of Rs. 650.
The payment can be done either online or through Demand Draft drawn in favor of the “The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, and Chennai-600025”. The printed application forms are can be obtained from Centre for Distance Education (CDE), Anna University or from the Study Centers located outside Chennai on payment of Rs.650 in cash.

Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) Test
DEET is an entrance test conducted by CDE, Anna University for admission into the MBA and MCA programs.
The candidates who clear the DEET Test are eligible to enroll in the different Distance Learning Courses offered by the University according to their DEET rankings. Similarly, there in a separate list for TANCET candidates made on the basis of TANCET score.
The students selected need to submit their documents in the University. The documents required are as follows:
- SSLC or its equivalent
- HSC or its equivalent
- Degree or Provisional Certificate
- Transfer Certificate
- TANCET score card (if applicable)
Along with the certificate the candidates also need to submit the fees specified for the courses they opt for.

FEE STRUCTURE
The fee structure for the MBA, MCA and M.Sc course is the same. It includes a payment of Rs.18, 650/- in the first semester of the commencement of the course. Post that, the student needs to pay an amount of RS.12, 500/- every subsequent semester.

The non-residents of Tamil Nadu need to pay an additional amount of Rs.400/- during the time of admission as the recognition fees.
There are certain terms and conditions for the fee payment; there is a criterion of fee refund with a refundable caution amount of Rs.5, 000 which is inclusive in the fee payment.
All the payments are done through Demand Draft which is in favor of the “Director of Center of Distance Learning, Anna University”.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Anna University does not offer any kind of scholarships. But the physically disabled people get relaxation in the fee payment; they do not need to pay the tuition fees.
To avail the benefits, students need to provide the valid certificates from the Chairman, District Medical Board in the prescribed form which can be obtained from the website or the candidate can obtain it in person from the Center for Distance Education office.
APPROVAL
Anna University is AICTE/UGC recognized University. All the courses enrolled in the University are approved by the Distance Education Bureau, DEC. The University not only has all the courses approved but is also holds a position among the top ranked Universities in India.

The University is ranked 6th by Shiksha.com in the year 2017. It holds a position in the top 10 Universities in India for Distance Education.
