Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) is a part of Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER). The institute offers a variety of programs both on campus and off campus. Started in the year 1983, MIT was MAEER’s first step towards revolutionising the education scenario in Maharashtra.

The courses can be applied to online. MITSDE has globally acclaimed online services that make the course of education easy and available to the candidates via an innovative platform.

  • Admissions to the various courses offered by MITSDE happens all year round.
  • There is no specified entrance test or minimum percentage as an eligibility criteria.
  • Application forms are made available both online and offline.

A student can apply to MITSDE, offline by two methods:

  • Walk-in: A student can walk into the MIT campus in Pune during the working hours of the day 9:30AM-5:30PM, from Mondays to Fridays and fill out an application form, produce the required documents and pay the fees, without delay. This method ensures on spot admissions.
  • By post: Those who cannot travel to the campus for admissions can download the online application form, fill it up, attach copies of required documents, along with a DD and post it to the Pune campus address.

The DD should be drawn in favour of “Executive Director-MITSDE” payable at Pune. The name and contact number of the person should be enumerated behind the DD.

Online method has proved to be most effective. The student is required to fill out an online application form that consists of four pages-

  • Personal details
  • Educational details
  • Professional details and,
  • Updated resume (if applicable)

After the online application form, has been filled out, it can be submitted online.

The required documents should be scanned and attached to the application form and sent to [email protected]

Fees can be paid online.

The documents required to be submitted are:

  • Application form, filled and signed.
  • Two recent passport size photos. Name and contact number should be written on the back of the photos.
  • Photocopy of Graduation/diploma/Provisional Certificate/12th and 10th certificate duly attested by a Gazetted officer/Notary Public/Head of Institution last attended or Head of Department of current workplace.
  • Photo ID proof such as passport, PAN card, Driver’s license and Aadhar card.

The application form is liable to rejection if it is incomplete, the correct documents are not furnished/attested, and/or non-enclosure of the DD or cheque.

After the payments, documents are all submitted along with the application form, MITSDE will scrutinize the application and select students. The selected students will get an SMS with details such as Registration number, user id password and fees receipt. Additional documents may also be asked is necessary.Once the application form has been accepted, all the documents asked are furnished, and fee payment is done, the admission of a candidate gets confirmed.

Basic proficiency in computers and internet is necessary since all assignments and examinations are online.


The fee structure varies for different courses and duration of the course. Each course has a specific fee structure for tuition and other extra fees. Fee differs for both Indian students as well as Foreign students.

There is no reservation for SC/STs or OBC.

An extra charge Rs.500 will be applied for bounced cheques.

Study Material

Once the student has paid the required fees and the admission has been confirmed, the study material will be sent by courier to the candidate’s place of interest. After that, the exams and assignments will be submitted online.


There are no scholarships awarded by the university. But the student can apply for an education loan in a bank. This depends on the individual alone and the university does not have a tie with any bank to provide educational loans.


  • Exams are held twice every year during the months of July/August and January.
  • Since the learning is online, there isn’t any compulsion on completing the course within the stipulated time, but it is advised that it is done so.
  • The candidate will be awarded with a course completion certificate only after he/she has completed all the assignments, submitted projects (if required) and successfully scored at least 50% in examinations.
  • The student should fill up an online examination form and select a date for the examination and their nearest examination centre. Once the application procedures are successfully completed, the student will be awarded an online hall ticket.
  • The student should download and print the hall ticket and bring it with them without fail, on the day of the examination.
