Distance MBA in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is one of the largest states in India, and contains a number of major cities, providing for education of many students. Andhra Pradesh has a few prestigious Universities in the state including Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra University, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, etc. The state also is home to the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory, and the launch station of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) at Sriharikota.

Universities

Andhra Pradesh is definitely not short of Distance education universities, and has various famous, prestigious universities including Acharya Nagarjuna University center for Distance Education, Center for Distance Education Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, School of Distance Education – Andhra University, Prof. G. Ram Reddy Center for Distance Education – Osmania University, Integral Institute of Advanced Management, International Institute of Management and Technical Studies, etc.

Approval

Many of the aforementioned universities and colleges are UGC recognized colleges, and AICTE approved universities, while International Institute of Management and Technical Studies provides an autonomous course. Acharya Nagarjuna and Andhra University are approved by DEC and are UGC recognized, and so is Dr B. R. Ambedkar Open University. Similarly Sri Venkateshwara University is approved by the UGC for distance education. Prof. G. Ram Reddy center of Distance education is approved by the DEC, and UPE (University with Potential Excellence) and re- accredited by the NAAC with ‘A’ grade.

Eligibility Criteria

Acharya Nagarjuna University requires its applicants to have a Bachelor’s degree from any of the recognized universities, (Other than BFA and BOL) with a minimum of 2 years of work experience, while also requiring a qualification in the entrance examination conducted by the CDE, ANU. Andhra University similarly requires its students to have a Bachelor’s degree (other than BFA and BOL) and a qualification in ICET or Entrance Examination held by Andhra University; the student also must have a mathematics subject in his SSC/ Intermediate level. The Eligibility criterion for other PG Diploma courses is considerably lenient. Prof. G. Ram Reddy Center for Distance Education also requires similar Eligibility criteria to be fulfilled for admissions.

Fee Structure

The Distance Education Universities in Andhra are fairly inexpensive. Prof. G. Ram Reddy Center has a total fee of only Rs7 500 per semester, whilst the course extends for two academic years. Andhra University for its MBA course requires its students to pay Rs30 000, for the complete course, similarly Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University requires its students to pay a total amount of about Rs5500 per year, for the three years of the course. Acharya Nagarjuna University requires its students to pay an amount of Rs17260, for the complete course. The fees are to be paid usually, through Bank Challan, or through Credit card/ Debit card option, or often through the Bank Draft option.

Specialization Offered

Due to the abundance of Distance Education universities throughout the state, various specializations in MBA are available. Every college provides the popular specializations such as Human Resource Management and Business Administration. Ambedkar University also provides MBA specialization in Health Care Management. Andhra University, offers specializations and Executive MBA in Human Resource, Marketing, Finance, while Sri Venkateshwara University offers specialization in Public Relations. The colleges have study centers throughout the state, and therefore make the courses easily accessible.

Admission Procedure

The applicants are usually required to have written the ICET or are required to write a college held entrance examination, to be eligible for admission. The candidates must obtain the application form online from the University websites or their corresponding study centers, and send the application form along with required documents, by post. The colleges scrutinize the application form, and revert to the students with admission offers.

Placements

Acharya Nagarjuna University has a separate placement cell for job assistance foe its students, and ensures that the students are job eligible. Around 2000 students have been placed successfully at companies such as ICICI Prudential, MSN Insurance, Reliance Life Insurance, Pepsi, Vignan College, etc. Andhra University also offers similar placement facilities. Other colleges also provide support for placements and provide Job assistance after course completion.
