What is TS EAMCET?
Telangana State: Engineering, Agriculture, & Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) is conducted every year by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) on behalf of the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE). It is an Undergraduate (UG) level examination for admission into various colleges in the state of Telangana in the streams of Engineering, Agriculture, and Medicine.
Structure of TS EAMCET exam
The EAMCET Exam is conducted for the Agriculture and Medical Stream and for the Engineering Stream separately on the same day.

TS EAMCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Any student that meets the set of eligibility conditions can appear for both the Agriculture and Medical as well as the Engineering Stream exam if needed.
Nationality
The student appearing for the exam must be an Indian Citizen or must hold a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card.
Domicile
The student should belong to the state(s) of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh and the local and non-local status is decided according to the Telangana / Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions (Regulations of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
Engineering Stream
Candidates should have either passed or have appeared for their final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology as optional from either the Board of Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh or any other recognized and equivalent Board.
OR
The candidate must have appeared or passed their final year Diploma Examination in Engineering from State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any other recognized and equivalent Board.
- The student must have obtained at least 45% (40% for reserved category) in the core subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry in this case) in the 10+2 examination pattern.
- The candidate must have completed at least 16 years of age by December 31st that year. No upper age limit exists. ( For Engineering Courses)
- The candidate must have completed at least 17 years of age by December 31st that year for courses like B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech. (FT). The upper age limit for these courses is 22 years ( 25 years in case of SC, ST candidates). The same lower age limit applies to Pharma-D courses but there is no upper age limit.
Agricultural and Medical Stream
- Candidates should have either passed or have appeared for their final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) Physics along with Chemistry, Biology as optional from either the Board of Education, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh or any other recognized and equivalent Board.
- The student must have obtained at least 45% (40% for reserved category) in the core subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry in this case) in the 10+2 examination pattern.
- The candidate must have completed at least 16 years of age by December 31st that year. No upper age limit exists. ( For B.Pharmacy Courses)
- The candidate must have completed at least 17 years of age by December 31st that year for courses like For B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture / B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.F.Sc. and Pharma-D. The upper age limit for these courses is 22 ( 25 in case of SC, ST candidates).
Application forms and submission procedure
The application process for the Telangana EAMCET is an online process. A candidate registering for the examination must visit the website and click on “Apply Online”.
The following steps must be followed:
Step-1: On clicking the ‘Apply Online’ button, the candidate is first led to the payment page. The fee is 500 INR and 250 INR in case of SC/ST candidates.
Step-2: There are two possible payment options. One option is making the payment option online or offline.
Online Payment- Here one can directly pay through their Credit/Debit card or Net Banking. After filling in some primary details like Name of Candidate, Father’s Name, etc, the candidate is led to the payment gateway. After successful payment, you will be directed to fill the rest of the application.
Offline payment– One can pay at their nearest Mee-Seva counter. This can be done by choosing the TS Online / AP Online option. On entering the Transaction ID of the payment, the payment will be verified and you can proceed with the rest of the application.
- To fill out the rest of the form, the candidate must have in hand their Aadhar Card, Study Certificates, Hall ticket of qualifying examination (Board Exam), Birth Certificate, Photo and so on.
- A candidate will be required to fill out details like name, parent’s Details, details regarding past qualifying examinations (board examination), category, medium of Paper they would like to attempt, college where they completed their intermediate from and so on.
- On completely filling up the application form, you will be able to print your filled up form. This can be saved for further reference. This will also contain a Registration Number which will be needed to download the Hall ticket. The application form will need to be attested by the Principal of the junior college or the Gazetted Officer. A photo will also need to be affixed to the application form. All of this will need to be submitted to the invigilator during the exam.
Last year, the application process began on March 15, 2017, and ended on April 15, 2017. Late registration can also be done after this period by paying an excess fine. After the submission of the application form, candidates are also given a time period in which they can rectify any mistakes on the application form.
Admit Card
The downloading of Admit cards generally begins around 10 days before the examination. Last year, candidates were able to download their hall tickets from May 1st to May 9th. Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets from the TS EAMCET website by entering the Registration No, Hall ticket No. of qualifying examination and Date of Birth.
The Hall ticket will include details such as the photo of the candidate, test center, date and time of the exam, category of student, their local region and etc. The Hall ticket will need to be saved even post the examination for the counseling procedure.
Admission Procedure
A few days after the examination, an official key will be released on the TS EAMCET website. One can challenge the key if they have any queries.
JNTU Hyderabad will then announce a date for the declaration of marks and the rank obtained overall. The rank obtained is not only dependent on the marks secured in the examination but also dependent on Board Marks.
A candidate must obtain at least 25% in order to qualify although there is no such requirement for SC/ST candidates.
- Based on the obtained ranks, an online counseling procedure will begin in which a candidate must arrange their preferences in colleges and branches.
- A candidate meeting all eligibility conditions will be able to apply for admission in the list of institutions that would be released in the Information Booklet for Counseling by the State Council of Higher Education and the same information would also be released on website http://www.tsche.ac.in.
- Candidates seeking admission will also need to verify their documents where all study certificates, board certificates, and other technical details will be verified by concerned officials.
Notification
The notification for the examination is expected to be released in the last week of February 2018. The official notification for TS EAMCET2018 can be downloaded by visiting the official website.
Syllabus
TS EAMCET is an entrance test of three hours. There will be three parts in the question paper namely – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for engineering aspirants whereas for agriculture aspirants the paper will have four sections viz. Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics.

List of colleges accepting TS EAMCET score
More than 300 institutes offer admission to students in various undergraduate courses based on their TS EAMCET performance. The list comprises of both government and non-government colleges.
TS EAMCET Results
The results of TS EAMCET 2018 will be declared around the fourth week of May 2018. Candidates will be able to check their results and download their scorecard from the official website. After the conduction of the examination, candidates are expected to regularly visit the official website for updates regarding declaration of results and counselling process.
Cut-Off
Students can have an idea of the cut-off of TS EAMCET 2018 by having a look at the previous year cut-off. Following cut-off list comprises of courses offered in some of the prime institutions giving admissions on the basis of TS EAMCET score. The cut-off varies from campus to campus. Mainly the cut off depends on these following factors:
- The number of candidates appearing in the TS EAMCET entrance exam all across the state.
- The difficulty level of the questions asked in the online test.
- The availability of seats per course at the institutes.

Score Validity
The validity of the examination score stands for the particular academic year only. Hence, the validity of TS EAMCET 2018 score will be for the academic year 2018-19 only. Every candidate will get only one chance to appear for TS EAMCET for a particular academic year. Request for multiple attempts in any scenario will not be entertained by the admission directorate.

TS EAMCET 2018 Counselling Schedule
Candidates will be able to view their scores once the result is hosted on the official website. This score will be the basis of their selection in TS EAMCET. The scores can also be viewed by simply logging on to the account made on the official website.
After the successful conduction of TS EAMCET, the results will be declared around the fourth week of May 2018. Those candidates who will be scoring above the cut off mark will be shortlisted for counselling according to the order of merit.
Based on the merit list, candidates will be issued counselling letter for attending the counselling process. The mode of counselling process will be notified on the official website. Allotment list will be released on the official website after every round of counselling process. Candidates can check their status for admission from this list.
Candidates attending the counselling process have to ensure that they are in possession of all the required documents like:
- 10th class mark sheet and passing certificate
- 12th class mark sheet and passing certificate
- Hall Ticket
- Score Card
- Counselling Letter
Hall ticket, Score Card, Counselling Letter must be preserved until the final process of counselling and seat allotment is over.
Sample Paper
The sample papers and previous year question papers are available online. Candidates can check online and download the previous year papers of TS EAMCET and also the sample papers related to the same. They are advised to attempt these papers before taking the actual test. This will help them to get accustomed to the level of the questions asked in the examination.
