The Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Dehradun was established and approved by the State Government of Uttarakhand in 1996 to provide a platform for excellence in the fields of Management, Computer Applications, Law and Mass Communication.
The University holds a number of accreditations from various institutions. The most notable being from University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Bar Council Of India and the Membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Application and Admission Procedure
How to apply:
The interested candidates can register for entrance examination through the below mentioned procedures:

The online form fill up can be done via Internet. While For Offline forms fill up, the candidate needs to complete the registration procedure in person. The examination fees needs to be paid in cash along with all the Xerox copies of the required documents.
The interested candidates are requested to periodically check the official website of the university.
Admission Procedure:
The IMS University selects candidates on the basis of Entrance Examination, which is conducted by the university. After a candidate successfully submit’s the application form, a hall ticket will be issued. The candidates need to collect them via Online or Offline.
After successfully clearing the entrance examination, the candidates are called for counselling. At the time of counselling, the candidates are instructed to carry all the required documents along with them.

Campus Facility
IMS boasts of a luscious campus with latest state of art infrastructure. All the classrooms are well lit and airy. It has an excellent well stocked library. It has seminar halls, conference rooms for several events. It also has well equipped language, computer and mass com labs.
Other than that the University provides sports facilities to its students. It also has a lot of eateries and cafes on campus. The University has a fleet of very comfortable vehicles for pick and drop of our students as well as staff from different corners of the city.
Hostel Facilities
The University provides separate hostels facilities for both boys and girls. The hostels have been so made that they provide comfort and security to the residents. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with extra focus given on the security of the residents. Mess service is also provided to the students. The hostel provides the following amenities to its residents:

Eligibility
1) 3 year Law Degree Course - A candidate who has graduated in any discipline from a recognized University can appear for L.L.B. course
2) Integrated Degree Program - Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam or an exam cosidered to be equivalnt to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam can enrol for integrated degree program (LLB and a first degree in any other subject).
Candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree after taking up other courses through distance mode are also considered eligible for integrated degree course. But those candidates who have obtained 10+2 Higher secondary exam certificate or a graduate degree through distance mode or from open universities without any basic qualification are not eligible for admission into law courses.

Gender ratio was almost equal. There were no discriminatio by the college on relegious basis. Many faculties are muslims and they were very good in thier fields. The computers are of advanced configurations and latest software are available too.
Academics
The exam structure was divided into 2 times internal exams and one external semester examination.
Internships
No internship was provided by the college and we have to find it on our own. The college does not have any tie ups with companies. I also did my internship and was offered around Rs 3k as stipend.
Loans and Scholarships
All leading Banks provide Educational Loans to Students of this university, however OBC (Oriental Bank of Commerce) Provides loans on preferential terms and interest rates to IUU students.
Remarks
My college time was the best time that i can ever imagine. Especially those moments of spend with my friends so great. The faculty of the college is very helpful as well as very experienced. It has a lot of facility which includes high speed wifi, common gym, architecture, excellent labs, transportation facility etcetera
Entrance Exam
For bcom course you don't need to give any of the entrance test. Admission is just based on your class 12th maths as well as your personal interview. The admission process is offline and the candidates have to visit college with their marksheets and other related documents. shot listed the candidate will be called for the interview

i believe receive the college is a bit expenses acetate to other courses. The fees of the bcom program is around 6.5 lacs with consist of 2 years. Compared to other colleges which offered same goes it is a bit high and management should consider dropping the fees a bit.
Placements
Colleges has a dedicated placement cell which takes care of students placements. They helped with interviews and aptitude tests and other such type of things which are important during the placement season. The average placement is around 4 to 5 lacs. Some teachers are also members about college placement cell which makes it much more easier and accessible
Hostel and Facilities
University has decent hostel with some latest facilities provided. It also believes in creating environment friendly institution. Some of the facilities of the college are health and medical facility, canteen, cafeteria, smart classes, green environment etc.
Alumni
The campus life is full of fun with extra-curricular activities and bazaar as well as academic events. The gender ratio is around 2:1. Also the campus is ragging free and there isn’t any kind of discrimination on any ground. All this makes college very great
Faculty
Most of them have published their own books in their respective field of expertise. I also believe the standard can increase as most of the faculty have limited outside exposure. The level of interaction was great and i believe the interaction can be more if you want to.

The campus life is good and when comes to extra curricular like singing, dancing, acting,,, sports. There are sports events happening in the college in the college providers decent exposure.
Academics
Internships
Internship depends on department to department and not all departments get internship. I did not get any internship but i was able to grab an internship outside of college which provided great exposure as well as enough learning for me.
Loans and Scholarships
Yes the college provide scholarship to students. Scholarships are the basic eligibility criteria is that you should be a good student and hardworking student. The college also has various tie ups with banks which provide you loan at very low interest rates. The amount of scholarship ranges from course to course sand have different parameters such as qualification performance in admission test , attendance etc. The student gets scholarship it is only available for one semester and if he wants to renew the scholarship he has to scored good marks in his next semester exams
Remarks
The college is very diverse with students from around the country and you get a mix culture of a lot of states which is really fun as you get to meet a lot of them and learn and lot from them. My experience at the college has been one of the best experinces of my whole life. The placement of the college is someting i had heard a lot about and is one of the reasons why i took admission into this college.
Entrance Exam
For taking admission in MBA students should be graduate in any discipline with min. 50% marks are eligible to apply. For final year appearing candidates, an aggregate of all previous years should be minimum 50%.
Fees
The fee for my course of the college is pretty reasonable as per me. Though i cannot speak for everybody as everone have different financial backgrounds.

Yes, placement and job fairs are more and so many good companies takes place such as Trident Group, Mirus Solutions Pvt. Ltd., SRE India Real Fin Pvt. Ltd., Kotak Securities Ltd., Naukri.com, Beta Soft Systems Pvt. Ltd., came for placement. Almost all of the batch got placed except the ones who did not wanted a job.
Hostel and Facilities
Hostel security is very strict and no one is allowed to meet you after 7 PM. No parents/guardian/visitors are allowed to stay with the student in their room. All students will report for the roll call every evening at 7:00 pm in the Reception area of the hostel.

The alumni and the present students regularly interact with each other that helps the students to get an insight of the latest developments in the Industries where the alumni are working. The Alumni Association has more than 500 registered alumni who play an active role in supporting career development moves of the present students of the University.

Campus life was full of experiences and It is an essential component of University research and education mission. LRC helps Faculty Members to keep abreast with the latest developments in their area of activities and provides information support for research and consultancy. At the same time, for students, library is a source to get information support for their course curriculum as well as for their self-development.
Academics
The University has Multimedia Computer Centre and Computer labs having more than 600 latest Desktops with advanced computing facilities to provide unbridled free internet access to all the students round the clock. The computers are of advanced configurations and latest software are available to provide holistic IT training facilities.

Loans and Scholarships
Scholarships are provided by the university and gave concession of 20% of Tuition Fee. Scholarships are provided to those candidates who have aggregate marks of 80% - 90 % in Class XII Board Examination. ATM facility is also available for students and staff and this facility can be availed by the students and staff of the college helping them to open a bank account and make transactions safer and faster.
