Jadavpur University was established as Bengal Technical Institute in 1905. and It was converted to Jadavpur University with the concurrence of the Government of India and the Government of West Bengal in 1955. Jadavpur University is a public technical university located in Jadavpur, Kolkata. The Society for the Promotion of Technical Education in Bengal was amalgamated with NCE in 1910 and since then, it looked after the College of Engineering and Technology, Bengal.

Jadavpur University BTech Selection Process 2022

• Admission to the BTech programmes at Jadavpur University will be offered to the students based on their rank in the WBJEE exam through WBJEE counselling.
• 90% of the total General category seats are reserved for the students of West Bengal while 10% of the General category seats are open for All Indian students.

WBJEE

• West Bengal Board of Examination conducts the WBJEE exam every year to allocate seats for BTech programmes to the students.
• It is an offline exam and it contains 40 questions each from Chemistry, Physics and 75 questions from Mathematics.

• Every question of Category I of the WBJEE carries 1 mark while the questions of Category II and Category III carry 2 marks and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Jadavpur University BTech Fee Structure

• The tuition fee for all the BTech programmes including BTech Computer Science and Engineering offered by the Jadavpur University except Information Technology is Rs. 2,400/- per annum.
• The annual tuition fee for the BTech Information Technology at Jadavpur University is Rs. 30,000/-

Hostel Fee

Jadavpur University BTech Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility requirements that candidates should possess to become eligible for BTech admissions at Jadavpur University are given below.
