VIT BCA

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was established in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College and is a private deemed research university. It offers 66 undergraduate, 58 postgraduate and other industrial programmes. The BCA programme of VIT imparts in-depth knowledge to the students on information technology theory, computer applications and programming practice by exposing them to different domains such as computational thinking, data structures, programming in C, digital computer fundamentals and database management systems.

VIT BCA Application Process 2022

Candidates have to apply online for BCA admissions through Debit/Credit Card/Paytm Mode/Net Banking. A printed OMR application form for BCA admissions is not available at VIT. The steps that students have to follow for applying for BCA admissions online are given below.

• Candidates should register themselves for BCA admissions at VIT by clicking on the "New Applicant" available on the official website.
• Candidates should verify their email addresses with the OTP received from VIT.
• After OTP validation, students will receive a password to their registered email ID.
• Candidates have to fill out the BCA application form online using a Debit/Credit Card/Paytm/Net Banking.
• Candidates are required to pay Rs. 600/- non-refundable application fee.
• Students should upload the following documents on the application portal of the BCA programme.
  • Copy of Aadhaar Card or Copy of Age Proof Certificate
  • Copy of Class XII Hall Ticket
  • Copy of Class XII Mark Sheet
• Candidates have to submit the following documents for verification.
  • Copy of Community Certificate (If Applicable)
  • Copy of Nativity Certificate (For North-Eastern State Students, Ladakh and Kashmir).

VIT BCA Selection Process 2022

• There is no entrance exam that candidates have to write for getting admission to the BCA programme at VIT.
• Notification regarding the BCA application form will be provided on the website of the VIT.
• A merit list for BCA admissions at VIT will be prepared based on 10+2 marks and the subject of study.
• Students shortlisted for BCA admissions through merit in the qualifying exam will be called for counselling (physical or virtual).
• Invitation for counselling does not guarantee admission to students. The grant of admission depends on the cutoff fixed by the VIT and the availability of seats.

Counselling Procedure

• Students who have qualified for counselling should attend it as per the schedule given by the VIT.
• Students should provide essential documents in original format along with one set of photocopies before counselling for verification.
• The fee for BCA counselling paid by the students will not be refunded under any circumstances and it will be adjusted in the tuition fee.
• Students are allowed to participate in the counselling process of the BCA programme at VIT only after document verification. All documents related to eligibility, age, and mark sheets of qualifying exams will be verified.
• If a candidate fails to fulfil the BCA eligibility requirements then their provisional admission will stand cancelled.

VIT BCA Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility requirements that candidates should possess to become eligible for BCA admissions at VIT are given below.

• Both resident Indian and non-resident Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
• All the students who have been born on or after 1^st July 2022 and completed the qualifying exam in regular mode are eligible.
• Candidates should have passed the 10+2 system of Higher Education or its equivalent in any stream with an aggregate of at least 60% marks with Business Mathematics/Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized board or institute or university.
• Students who have appeared for Class XII and are awaiting the results are also eligible to apply for BCA admissions subject to the submission of passing certificates before the date notified by the institute.
• 10% relaxation in the qualifying exam will be provided for students belonging to the SC/ST category or students hailing from North-Eastern States, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
