VIT Vellore BTech Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility criteria for the BTech programmes at VIT are given below.

Nationality

• Candidates must be resident/non-resident Indian National/PIO/OCI.
• Foreign students can also apply.

Age Limit

• All the candidates must have been born on or after 1^st July 2000 to become eligible for BTech admissions at VIT.
• The institute considers the date of birth mentioned in the marksheet/certificate of Class X as authentic for this purpose.

Qualifying Exam

Students wishing to secure admission for BTech programmes at VIT must have either completed or appearing in 2022 in any one of the exams given below.

• The Class XII of the higher secondary exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Council for Indian School Certificate Exam or State Board, Or
• Pre-university exam of two years or Intermediate exam from a recognized university or board.
• International Baccalaureate Diploma of International Baccalaureate Office or High School Certificate Exam of Cambridge University will also be accepted and candidates can apply for BTech admissions at VIT.
• Candidates who have completed the GCE exam at the Advanced (A) Level can also apply.
• As per the norms and regulations of the VIT, students of the regular NIOS board are eligible to apply for VITEEE. These students should produce the Migration cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining the VIT.
• All the students who have completed their qualifying exam in full-time, regular and formal education are only eligible for applying for BTech admissions at VIT.
• For IB applicants, Mathematics and Physics at HL and Chemistry at SL/HL are compulsory.
• Students must have secured an aggregate of at least 55% marks in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam while it is 45% for SC/ST and students of North-eastern states, J&K and Ladakh.
• For Indian Nationals, NRI/PIO card holders, appearing in VITEEE is mandatory and if it gets cancelled due to unexpected calamities, the qualifying criteria may be substituted with JEE/SAT or marks in the qualifying exam.
