About

Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology affiliated to Osmania University was established in the year 1979. It is an esteemed University which is known as the Premier Engineering Institute in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. BTech here is a 4 years’ programme spread across 8 semesters and each semester will consist of approximately 15-17 weeks of academic work.

CBIT provides specializations in BTech in Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and Computer Science and Technology. Candidates needs to clear the TS EAMCET entrance examination conducted by the University or must have a valid score card or JEE Mains to get admitted at CBIT for BTech. Application Procedure

The application procedure for the CBIT for BTech is as follows:

Step 1: Go to the official website and click on the ‘Admission’ panel. The candidate will be redirected to the application form. See: https://www.cbit.ac.in/admission_post/admissions/

Step 2: Fill out all the required details like personal information including phone number, email id, etc., and enter the current living address.

Step 3: Candidates will also be required to upload all the documents asked. The relevant documents include:

• 5 Passport size photo
• Transfer Certificate
• Study Certificates (VI to XII)
• EWS Income Certificate
• Aadhar Card

Step 4: Pay the application fee of Rs. 3,000 which can be paid online. Candidates can also submit a demand draft at the following address:

Admission Procedure/Selection Process

The admission process or selection procedure at CBIT for BTech is as follows:

• 70% admissions are made on the basis of the entrance examination TSEAMCET conducted by the higher education Department of Telangana State government. The whole process is completely based on merit.
• The remaining 30% admissions are done by the management.

1. Out of these 30% seats, 22% seats are filled on the basis of the JEE Mains Rank or TEAMCET rank or 10+2 percentage.
2. The remaining 8% seats are allotted to the NRI students based on their 10+2 marks.

• Candidates will also need to take part in the state counselling process
• Counselling authorities will allot students according to their marks and the availability of seats in the college.
• After successful allotment of seats, candidates will require to verify all their details provided and clear the fees.
• Candidates will only be admitted after they clear the admission fee along with the fees of 1^st semester.

Eligibility Criteria

The Candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria for taking admission at CBIT in BTech:

Convener’s Quota:

• Candidates applying at CBIT for BTech must have passed the intermediate examination of the Board of intermediate education, Government of Telangana or any other examination that is recognized by Osmania University as an equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects.
• Candidates must clear the EAMCET entrance examination as admission will strictly be based on merit.
• Candidates must belong from either Telangana or Andhra Pradesh. Candidates will also be required to satisfy the local/non-local status requirement.

B-Category Candidates:

• Candidates under B-Category must have a valid scorecard of JEE Mains/EAMCET and IPE or equivalent as 30% seats will be filled by them.
• Candidates must have at least 50% marks in aggregate or group (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry).

Lateral Entry:

• Candidates willing to take lateral admission i.e., in the 2^nd year, must clear the Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET), the state level entrance examination which is conducted by the State Government, to be eligible.

Fee Structure

The fee structure for taking admission at CBIT in BTech is Rs. 1,34,000 per year. This is for the year 2021-2022 and is tentative to change each year.

Hostel Fees:

Candidates applying from far away places can avail the hostel facilities given by the University. Fully air-conditioned, wifi-enabled, and good food facilities are available to the students.

The cost for a hostel for both boys and girls is Rs. 55,000

Scholarships

Candidates applying at CBIT for BTech can avail of the following scholarship opportunities:

• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/EBC/Disability and other minority quotas can avail of scholarships provided by the university where all tuition fees will be exempted.
