The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is a training institute established to train Group A Gazetted Cadre known as Indian Trade Service. It was established in 1963 by the Indian Government as a Centre of Excellence in International Trade and Business. It works under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is an autonomous institution. The MBA - International Business is a six-trimester management programme that focuses on international business. It aims to cover all the topics related to international business to give students a better understanding.

IIFT MBA Application Process 2022
The application process for the MBA IB programme involves 4 steps and the details are given below.
Step 1 - Online Registration
- Go to the IIFT NTA's official website. Find out the MBA IB admission link and click on the "Apply for IIFT MBA (IB)" option available there.
- Register yourself before proceeding to fill out the application form by entering your Name, Parent's Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Category, Email Address, Mobile Number and Address.
Step 2 - Fill Up the Online Form for MBA IB
- After completing the registration process, proceed to fill up the application form for the MBA (IB) programme and furnish the form with all the necessary information.
- Choose the four examination centres of your preference from the list given to appear for the exam.
Step 3 - Upload Scanned Documents
- Now, upload the scanned photograph and signature in the application form in the prescribed format.
- The photograph and signature should not contain any scars and must be visible.
Step 4 - Pay Fee
- After filling in all the information and uploading the necessary documents, click on next to proceed to fee payment.
- Pay the application fee for the MBA IB programme and complete the application process.
IIFT MBA Selection Process 2022
The selection of candidates for the MBA IB programme at IIFT is not the same for the domestic and NRI or Foreign Nationals and the detailed information is provided below.
For Indians
The selection of Indian students for the MBA IB programme at IIFT involves the following stages.
Stage I - Shortlisting
- Selection of candidates for the Extempore-PI/WAT-GD will be done based on candidates' percentile in the IIFT entrance exam including the sectional cutoffs.
- According to the availability of the seats and the number of students to be short-listed, the minimum cutoff percentile for the IIFT exam will be decided.
- The cutoff marks across all the categories for female candidates are 2 less than the actual cutoff according to the gender diversity policy of the IIFT.
- Along with gender diversity and marks in the IIFT entrance exam, a candidate's scores in Class X, and XII will also be considered.
- To ensure class composition, the IIFT also offers up to 5 points to non-engineers.

Stage II - WAT-GD/Extempore-PI
In addition to the criteria mentioned above, candidates have to attend the following rounds for the final selection.
- Written Ability Test - Students shortlisted after Stage I, have to submit an essay on a particular topic. Candidates will be evaluated on their comprehension skills, expression of ideas and techniques of presentation.
- Group Discussion - Candidates have to discuss a particular topic in groups. In this, candidates' communication, leadership, and ability to give new topics and content will be evaluated.
- Personal Interview - Shortlisted students who appear for this round are evaluated on extracurricular, academic, and analytical performance.

The Pattern of Computer-Based Test
- The online computer-based test is an objective type of examination. It is conducted for 120 minutes.
- The objective type examination contains questions on topics like Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Analysis, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation.
For NRI/Foreign Nationals
- Foreign Nationals or NRI students who wish to pursue MBA IB from IIFT will be short-listed based on their GMAT scores and the interview.
- The GMAT result that candidates showing should not be declared before 1st January 2020 and must be received by the institute by 15th March 2022.
IIFT MBA Fee Structure

IIFT MBA Eligibility Criteria 2022
The eligibility requirements for the MBA IB programme at IIFT are given below.
- All the candidates should have completed a recognized bachelor's degree of at least 3-years duration with an aggregate of at least 50% marks while it is 45% for the students belonging to the SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Candidates appearing for the final year examinations of the Bachelor's Degree can also apply subject to the submission of all the requisite documents by the October of the year of the course commencement.
- No age limit is prescribed for the candidates wishing to apply for the MBA IB programme at IIFT.
