Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh is a well-known public university. It one of the major universities in the country with over 450 affiliated colleges, established in 1976. It has a variety of courses at UG, PG and Diploma level across Science, Commerce, Arts, Law and Management disciplines. With a wide network of study centres and over 15000 students, it offers state-of-art facilities in distance education mode.

 Admission and Application Procedure

Admissions to all the programmes offered by the Centre for Distance Education (CDE) are held twice a year for the Academic (July) and Calendar(January) sessions. There are two methods of admission –

Method Criteria
Admission through Entrance Test For MBA and MCA courses;  Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of work experience OR having M.Com/ MHRM/ MFT/ MMM/ CA/ ICWA/ ACS/ MBBS/ BL/ BTech/ B.Pharmacy/ B.Sc(Agricultural) and 2 years of work experience will be exempted from the MBA entrance test
Direct Admission For UG, PG, PG Diploma and Certificate courses

The application can be submitted in-person, by post or through the online application form given on the official website.

Following are the various fee for different courses:-

  • MBA/MCA without entrance test – Rs 350
  • MBA/MCA entrance test – 550
  • BA/BCom/B.Sc/BBA/BHM – Rs.200
  • All other courses- Rs120

The above fee is applicable if form is collected in person.

For applications done via post or website, an additional Rs.50 is applicable.

Mode of Payment: The application fee can be paid through the following means –

  1. NEFT/ Fee payable at any of the branches of Andhra Bank or State Bank of India: In favor of ‘CDE Fee Collection’ SBI Account No.30036214420 or Andhra Bank Account No.150810011050058. Candidates will be given a receipt number, which has to be mentioned in the application form.
  2. SBI i-Collect: Payable via SBI Internet banking.
  3. Demand Draft: A crossed demand draft drawn in favor of ‘The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Nagarjuna Nagar’ payable at Nagarjuna Nagar or Guntur, with the candidate’s name,father’s name, course, enrollment number, purpose of payment, phone number and email ID written at the back of the DD.

Supporting documents: Attested photocopies of the following documents must be submitted along with the completed application form-

  • Colored passport-sized photograph
  • 10th mark sheet
  • 12th or equivalent mark sheet
  • Degree transcripts and certificate (for PG courses)
  • Migration certificate
  • Copy of Challan

Common FAQ

a) When does the fee need to be paid?
– The fee needs to be paid at the beginning of each semester or year, as applicable.

b) Can it be paid in installments?
–  Except MBA (3-year course), LLM, M.Com, MHRM, M.Sc – Mathematics/ Psychology, MA, BA,     PG Diploma, BBA, Diploma and Certificate courses, most of the courses can be paid in two installments.

Scholarships

No scholarships are offered for students under the CDE. However, there might be Central or State government financial aid available to certain students based on academic, demographic or financial criteria. Please contact the MHRD or the university office for more details.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Age Criteria: There is no upper age limit for admission to any of the courses.
  2. Reservation: A relaxation of 5% in the marks criteria is allowed for SC/ST category students.

Foreign candidates who wish to pursue a degree under the CDE must have the necessary equivalent qualifications and must physically attend all examinations at one of the study centres.

Distance MBA Course

The MBA programme is one of the flagship courses offered by the CDE at Acharya Nagarjuna University. The course duration is either 3 years (for dual specialization) or 2 years (for single specialization).

Eligibility: All candidates to the MBA programme must have (i)Obtained a pass in Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university (except BFA and BOL) with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category students) (ii)Had Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10th /12th /UG level (iii)Obtained a rank in ICET examination or the entrance test conducted by CDE.

Note – Candidates with Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of work experience OR Master’s/ Professional degree (refer to notice here: http://www.anucde.info/Website%20Notification.pdf) and 2 years of work experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience and qualified ICET/ MAT/Management Entrance by National bodies in the past 3 yearsmay be exempted from the entrance test.

Application Procedure: Candidates must first obtain the application-cum-prospectus in-person (Rs.550) or by post/ website (Rs.600). The filled-in applications, along with the required documents must be submitted to the university by 27th March, 2017 (for Academic Year). If the candidate meets the eligibility criteria and successfully clears the entrance test on 23rd April, 2017, they will be offered admission to the MBA programme, starting July 2017. The cost of application for candidates exempted from the entrance test is Rs.350 (in-person) and Rs.400 (by post/ website) respectively.

Subjects and Syllabus

The foundation courses which must be a part of the curriculum in the first year are Perspectives of Management, Business Environment, Managerial Economics, Accounting for Managers, Quantitative Techniques, Financial Management, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Research Methodology, Management of Information Systems and Business Policy. After the second semester, courses relevant to the specialization opted for are taken by the students.
