The university is a state approved private run educational platform established in 2008 and has a list of colleges which specialize in almost all areas of study, including Medical, Engineering, Management, Law, Journalism, Education, Arts and Science. With 14 faculties and 52 departments and a sprawling 250 acre campus, determined to make the university ‘Jewel in the Crown’ .

The Directorate of Distance Education of the university offers diploma, advanced diploma, postgraduate diploma, bachelors and masters programs under various subjects. The distance education programs were started from the academic session 2009-10, after the approval of the university’s distance education program by the Distance Education Council, Government of India.


The university currently offers a variety of courses spanning all major disciplines of learning under its distance education program. The list of courses is as follows-

The admission form is conducted entirely offline. The admission form and prospectus can be purchased from the university campus or its city office in Lokpriya Hospital Complex, Samrat Palace, Garh Road, Meerut on payment of cash or demand draft.

The admission form and prospectus can also be obtained by sending INR 175/- by demand draft, drawn in favour of SVSU, Distance Education, payable at Meerut along with a printed and filled application form “Obtaining the Prospectus and Admission Form” which can be found at the university website . The form and demand draft are to be mailed to The DDE, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Subhartipuram, NH-58, Delhi-Haridwar Bypass Road, Meerut 250005.

The admission form, hence obtained should be filled in carefully and 1 passport size colour photograph pasted. Other enclosures to be sent with the admission form are-

  • A demand draft for the course fees drawn in favor of SVSU, Distance Education payable at Meerut.
  • Photocopies of qualifying examinations and other relevant certificates or documents such as proof of date of birth, duly attested by a gazetted officer or principal of school or college where they were obtained. Self attestation is permitted only if the originals are presented in person to Assistant Director/ Deputy Director/ Director of Directorate of Distance Education or Registrar of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University.
  • 3 passport sized coloured photographs should be stapled with the admission form, in addition to the photograph pasted to the form.
  • Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, if qualifying exam is from a foreign university.

The admission form, along with all the above mentioned documents, can be handed over in person at the university, or mailed to the university address. On confirmation of admission, a fee receipt and identity card will be issued to the candidate. The identity card is to be kept safely, as the study material will be collected through the identity card.

Apart from the course fee, other additional fee applicable for all courses (in INR) is as follows-

  • Examination fee- 1400/- per annum
  • Credit Transfer Fee- 1500/-
  • Lateral Entry Fee- 1500/-
  • Continuation Fee- 500/-
  • Certificate/Diploma/Provisional Degree Fee- 500/-
  • Consolidated marks sheet fee- 300/-
  • Final degree fee- 1500/-

The eligibility criteria vary for different courses.Prospective candidates are required to carefully check their eligibility for the course of their choice before submitting an

application. The eligibility for some of the courses is as follows-

B.A, BBA, BA-JMC, BCA, B.Com 10+2 or equivalent
B.Sc(PCM) 10+2 with PCM
B.Sc. (ZBC) 10+2 with PCB
PG Diplomas in Intellectual Property Rights and Computer Applications, Bachelors in Library and Information Sciences, M.A, MBA, M.Sc(Computer Applications) Graduation or equivalent





Graduation with mathematics (those who haven’t graduated with mathematics are required to pass a qualifying exam)

Graduation with commerce

Post Graduate Certificate in Patent Practice LLB/ graduation in Law
PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Nutrition and Masters in Dietetics and Food Service Management Graduation in Food and Nutrition
PG Diploma in Maternal and Child Health MBBS or equivalent
PG Diploma in Hospital and Health Management Medical/Dental graduates with 3 years’ experience or MBA/PG candidates in Financial/Material/Personal management with 5 years’ experience.

Currently, entrance examinations are conducted for MBA and MCA courses. Note that minimum and maximum duration to complete the course is also mentioned in the above mentioned page. In case of failure of a student to complete the course within the maximum duration, the course fee will have to be paid again in full.


The distance education program of the university has been approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC) ,Government of India. It has also been accorded recognition by Joint Committee of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The university has a dedicated placement cell which helps in placement of promising students who have recently completed a course with the university. For the learners who wish to gain assistance of the placement cell are required to submit a complete bio-data and curriculum vitae to the Placement Officer, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, in both hard and soft format.


Subharti University is not running any off campus study centres at the moment.

However, there are a few groups and institutions who have been selling themselves off as a part of the university and the students are requested to beware of these fraudulent institutions.


Subharti University has a versatile MBA course of a 2 years duration. This duration of 2 years also includes an internship. A student graduate from any discipline can apply for it. The students applying for an MBA have to pass the entrance exam conducted by the university twice a year. The university may also consider granting admission on the basis of score obtained in any central or state conducted exam for same/similar course.

The university offers two kinds of MBA programs- with single or dual specialisation.

  • Specialisations offered in MBA (Dual Specialisation)- Information Technology/ Human Resource Management/  Marketing Management/  Production & Operation Management/  Financial Management
  • Specializations offered in MBA (Single Specialization)- Hotel and Tourism Management/ Telecom Management/ Fashion/ Pharmaceutical Marketing/ Hospital Administration

Both the MBA courses are similar in all other aspects, except specializations, including duration of program and course fees.
