The Distance Education Council of Suresh Gyan Vihar University was established in 2012 to provide quality education to aspirants who could not attend regular classes. The university offers five courses developed by industry and academic experts, with thousands of students pursuing their degree online through the council.

Admission and Application Procedure

Admissions are done twice a year in December (January-June session) and June (July-December session). All courses have direct admission with the exception of MBA, where an entrance test, OpenMAT, is conducted.

The application form for admission is available online (URL below) in order to make the process hassle-free. Alternatively, candidates may approach the university or any of its study centers for application. Candidates have to fill up the registration form and pay the registration fee. Once the fee payment is done, the prospectus will be made available to the candidate, which will contain information on how to fill up the main application. After filling up the application, scanned copies of documents (see below) will have to be sent to the university office and the course fees have to be paid upon admission.

Registration Fee: Candidates seeking admission must pay Rs.450 towards registration, irrespective of the course chosen. Payments can be made either online via the portal using Credit/ Debit card or Demand Draft drawn in favor of ‘SGVUDistance Education’ payable at Jaipur. Required Documents: Along with four passport-sized color photographs with blue background and the Demand Draft, the candidate also has to submit colored scanned copies of all certificates given below-

  4. Provisional/ Degree Certificate
  5. Date of Birth proof
  6. Work Experience proof (if applicable)

Original certificates along with two sets of attested photocopies of the same (by a Gazetted Officer) will be required during admission.

Deadline: All applications have to be submitted by December 31st for January-June and by June 30th for July-December. Applications will be accepted till January 31st for the former sessions and till July 31st  for the latter session respectively with a late fee of Rs.500.

Fee Structure

For BBA/ BCA courses, the Total Fee (Course Fee + Examination Fee) per semester is Rs.10750 for six semesters. For MCA (six semesters) and MBA (four semesters), the total fee is Rs.12900 per semester.

PGDCA course has a total course fee of Rs.8900 per semester for two semesters. For Certificate courses, please use the online form to inquire about the certificate-specific fees.

Installments: The fees for every semester have to be paid in instalments according to the university schedule which will be informed to the students prior to the start of the semester.

Scholarships

The university does not offer any scholarships or tuition-fee waivers for applicants. Please contact the School of Distance Education for specific inquiries.

Eligibility Criteria

Age & Reservation Criteria: There is no upper age limit for admission to any of the courses. Additionally, there is no relaxation of marks/ seat availability for students belonging to reserved categories.

The minimum eligibility criteria for courses are listed below-

 BBA/ BCA – RegularEntry: 10+2 or equivalent

BBA – Lateral Entry: DBA from a recognized university

BCA – Lateral Entry: O-level OR 1 year Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized university

MBA – Regular Entry:(i) Graduation/ Masters’ degree in any subject (ii) CAT/ MAT/ RMAT/ OpenMAT (by SGV University) or similar entrance test qualified

MBA – Lateral Entry:PGDBM/ PGDM/ PGBM OR MBA from a recognized university

MCA – Regular Entry: B.Sc (Mathematics) with minimum 45% aggregate OR B.Tech/ B.E/ BCA/ Masters’ degree in any subject

MCA – Lateral Entry: BCA/ B.Sc (IT/CS/CAM) OR PGDCA/ PGDIT OR A-level DOEACC OR B.Tech/ B.E in any stream OR M.Sc (CS/IT/Software) / MIT from a recognized university

PGDCA: B.Sc (Mathematics) with minimum 45% aggregate OR B.Tech/ B.E/ BCA/ Masters’ degree in any subject

Certificate Courses: 10th/ 10+2 as specified

Candidates opting for MCA courses only must clear DMCA-108 if they did not have Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Specialization/Courses Offered

The DE offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with certificate courses. UG and PG courses have both Regular Entry and Lateral Entry options. The UG courses offered are Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). The PG courses on offer are Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA).

Three-month long certificate programmes are also available in Date Preparation &Computer Software, Computer Applications, Hardware &Networking, Tally, Corporate Accountancy, Computer Languages, Management, Desktop Publishing, Call Centre Training and Spoken English.

Approval

SGV University was established under Act No.16 of the Government of Rajasthan in 2008. All the distance education programmes are approved by both the UGC-Distance Education Council, New Delhi and the AICTE.

Important Dates

For the January session, the last date of submission of filled-in application is December 31st (31st January with late fee of Rs.500). For the July session, the last date of submission of filled-in application is June 30th(31st July with late fee of Rs.500).

For MBA applicants through the regular mode, examination dates for OpenMAT (if applicable) will be notified separately.

Placements

The applicants will have to contact the university main campus directly for placement inquiries. Placements for distance education courses are usually done through the placement cell of SGV university.

Study Centers

The School of Distance Education has state-of-the-art online infrastructure and resources which enables students to complete their coursework from their homes. Distance MBA Course

Eligibility: For MBA – Regular Entry:(i) Graduation/ Masters’ degree in any subject (ii) CAT/ MAT/ RMAT/ OpenMAT (by SGV University) or similar entrance test qualified. ForMBA – Lateral Entry:PGDBM/ PGDM/ PGBM OR MBA from a recognized university.

Admission Process: The application process is same as for the rest of the courses, with the exception of an entrance test requirement. In order to prepare students for the academic rigor, an entrance test OpenMAT (not for CAT/ MAT/ RMAT qualified candidates) is conducted by the university. OpenMAT consists of four sections – English Language, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning with multiple-choice type questions. Candidates may only seek admission after the examination.

Fee Structure: The total course fee for the MBA – Regular Entry programme is Rs.52050, which can be paid in semester-wise instalments of Rs.12900. The total course fee for MBA – Lateral Entry is Rs.26250, which can be paid over the two semesters in instalments of Rs.12900.

Specializations Offered: Electives offered under the MBA – Regular Entry programme are Marketing, Finance Management, HR Management, IT Management and International Business.

Under the MBA – Lateral Entry programme, there are more number of options like Management in Banking, Branding &Advertising, Business Leadership, Entrepreunership, Finance, Finance Planning &Analysis, Foreign Trade &Global Business, HR, IT, International Trading, Investment Banking &Wealth, Marketing, Operations &Production, Project Leadership, Risk and Strategy.

Subjects &Syllabus: The MBA – Regular course consists of 21 papers, 14 of which are compulsory courses, 1 compulsory elective and 5 courses based on the specialization opted for. The remaining paper is dedicated to project work at the end of the programme.
