What is LPUNEST?
LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test) is conducted by Lovely Professional University for admission to various courses of the university.
With a valid score in this examination, candidates can get admitted to programs and courses like MBA, B.Tech, design, law, agriculture, Applied Medical Sciences and more.
Stated as the fifth largest entrance test in the country, every year more than 3 lakh candidates register for LPUNEST.

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology have 4 marks per question and English have 2 marks per question. There is no negative marking for wrong or unanswered questions. Total marks of the examination are 400. Candidates can opt for English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) or English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB).

Total marks of the examination are 400. Candidates can opt for English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) or English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or Crop production, horticulture, English. The duration of the test is 150 minutes (2 hours & 30minutes).
LPUNEST 2018 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate appearing in LPUNEST must be of Indian Nationality.
- If a candidate is applying for the graduate-level course then they must qualify their 10+2 or any equivalent course with 50% to 60% aggregate marks.
- If a candidate is applying for post-graduation level course then they must have completed or shall be appearing in final exam of Graduation (2018) from a recognized institute or university; with 50% aggregate marks.
- There is no age criterion to apply in LPUNEST 2018.
- Relaxation of 5% is provided to reserved category (SC or ST) candidates in certain courses.
LPUNEST 2018 Application forms and submission procedure
Candidates can either apply online or offline. Candidate can apply offline by purchasing the LPUNEST- 2018 kit.
Online Application process
Step-by-Step procedure for filling online application form:
- STEP-1: Registration
Candidate must go on the official site and register by entering the details like name, email id, date of birth and phone number.
- STEP-2: Payment of Fees
Payment of fees should be done online through either debit card/ credit card/net banking.
- STEP-3: Filling Details
After registration and payment of fees, candidates have to fill in their required details such as personal details, academic qualification details, exam details etc.
- STEP-4: Upload Documents
After entering the details candidates should upload the scanned photograph and signature with other documents as per requirement.
- STEP-5: Submit and Print Application
Lastly, candidates should submit the application form through online mode and take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.
Application Fee
Online Application fee- Rs 700 for boys and Rs 400 for girls
Offline Application fee- Rs 700 is the fees for offline application for both boys and girls.
Payment of fees can be done in the following ways-
- Demand Draft: A demand draft is drawn in the name of the university and submitted to the bank.
- Online Payment: This can be done online with help of credit card, debit card or net banking.
Documents to be attached
In case of online application, documents attached while submitting the application form online:
- Scanned photograph and signature of the candidate
- Other relevant documents like Aadhar card or Birth certificate
- Certificates of qualified exams

Admit Card
- LPUNEST 2018 Admit card will be available online from March 1st– 2018; right after online slot booking process.
- Candidates can download the examination hall ticket/admit card from the official site.
- The candidate has to login with the registered name or email, book the seat; select subjects, exam center and click on “Book Slot”.
- After booking, slot candidates can download the admit card from email.
- Admit card will be available after 48 hours of slot booking.
- The admit card should be printed on an A4 size sheet only.

Only those candidates who book the slot can download the LPU NEFT 2018 admit card.
LPUNEST 2018 Admission Procedure
The results will be announced on 7th May 2018. Candidates can check the results online on the official site of Lovely Professional University. After the declaration of the result candidates gets their score-card or rank. Candidates are given 5 seat preferences which can vary in streams or programs.
Candidates are allotted admission after several rounds of counselling, availability of seats and the Rank they obtained in the entrance examination.
Once the students are allotted admission, they have to download the allotment letter and deposit the initial payment of and are INR 10,000 to confirm the seat. To complete the admission form they have to upload certain documents like date of birth proof, academic documents like 10th 12th passing certificate etc.

LPUNEST 2018 Results
The results of LPU NEST 2018 will be declared on 7thMay 2018. Candidates will be able to check their results and download their score card from the official website.
After the conduction of the examination, candidates are expected to regularly visit the official website for updates regarding declaration of results and counselling process.
LPUNEST 2018 Cut-Off
Students can have an idea of the cut-off of LPU NEST 2018 by having a look at the previous year cut-off. The LPU NEST is an entrance examination of 400 marks. Recent trends show that for eligibility for B.Tech courses a candidate needs to score atleast 30% of the total marks.
Only those candidates who will come to a minimum acceptable level will be considered for counselling process and others will be disqualified.
Score Validity
The validity of the examination score stands for the particular academic year only. Hence, the validity of LPU NEST 2018 score will be for the academic year 2018-19 only. A candidate can appear for test for a particular course only once. One can apply for multiple courses; however, the onus lies on the candidate to ensure eligibility for the respective courses.
The declared score will be final and no amendments can be requested regarding the same. The decision of exam conducting body will be final in case of any ambiguity. Request for multiple attempts in any scenario will not be entertained by the exam conducting body.
LPUNEST 2018 Reservation & Seat Distribution
The admission to the institutes taking up LPU NEST score will be purely on merit. Only those candidates will be called for counselling process whose score will come to a minimum acceptable level i.e. those who will score more or equal to the cut-off marks. Hence, reservation norms will not be followed in allotment of the seat for various courses as done in other government universities.
LPUNEST 2018 Counselling Schedule
Candidates will be able to view their scores as soon as the results will be uploaded on the official website. This score will be the only basis of their selection in LPU NEST. The scores can also be viewed by simply logging on to the account made on the official website.
After the successful conduction of LPU NEST, the results will be declared. It is expected to be rolled out around 7th May 2018. Those candidates who will be scoring above the cut off mark (minimum 30% in case of B.Tech) will be shortlisted for counselling according to the order of merit.
Based on the merit list, candidates will be issued counselling dates and score card for attending the counselling process. It is expected that there will be three rounds of counselling for allotment of seats.Those candidates who will not get seats in the first round of counselling can expect admission in subsequent rounds.
Candidates attending the counselling process have to ensure that they are in possession of all the required documents like:
- 10th class marksheet and passing certificate
- 12th class marksheet and passing certificate
- Hall Ticket
- Score Card
- Admit Card
- Counselling Letter
Hall ticket, Score Card, Admit Card must be preserved until the final process of counselling and seat allotment is over. The admission will only be granted on payment of the admission fees at the institution.
