What is APEAMCET?

AP EAMCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test. It is a state level entrance examination conducted on the behalf of APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education). After successfully passing this exam, students can get admission in courses of various engineering streams as well as agriculture and medical courses. Both private and government institutions of the state offer seats to successful candidates of AP EAMCET.

Structure of APEAMCET exam

AP EAMCET will be conducted as a computer-based examination (online mode). The date of examination will be notified to the candidates on the official website. There will be no provision of re-examination for absentee candidates.

The pattern of the examination will depend on the course chosen by the candidate. The test’s duration will be 3 hours. Question papers will consist of 160 questions. Each question will be having equal weightage. Maximum marks for the papers will be 160 marks.

All the questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type consisting of four options with only one correct answer. Following will be the marking scheme:

  • For every correct response to a question, the candidate will get 1 mark.
  • There will be no penalty for wrong/incorrect answers.
  • Questions for which multiple responses are marked will be treated as an incorrect response.
  • In case of ambiguity in the questions, board’s decision will be final.

The medium of the question paper will be in English. A candidate has to attempt the respective paper to be eligible for admission in that particular course. Only those candidates will be considered qualified who will score a minimum acceptable mark as set by the examination conducting body.

APEAMCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for appearing in AP EAMCET are as follows:

Nationality

  • Indian citizens are eligible to write AP EAMCET 2018.
  • Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can also apply for the examination but they are not eligible for a reservation of any type.

Domicile

Students belonging to the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should have domicile certificate to avail the benefits of the reservation.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must complete their age of 17 years on 31st December of the year of their first semester.
  • There is no upper cap on the age limit for appearing in the examination.

Eligibility criteria for applying for various courses are as follows:

For Engineering and Pharmacy courses
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from any recognized state/central board.
  • A minimum of 50% is required in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for eligibility.
  • Those who have less than 50% marks in Mathematics are not eligible for appearing in the examination.
  • Final year diploma holders are also allowed to write the examination.
  • Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination and are expected to pass in 2018 are also eligible to apply given they satisfy the above-mentioned conditions.
For Medical and Agriculture courses
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from any recognized state/central board.
  • A minimum of 50% is required in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Zoology and Botany) for eligibility.
  • Those who have less than 50% marks in Biology are not eligible for appearing in the examination.
  • Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination and are expected to pass in 2018 are also eligible to apply given they satisfy the above-mentioned conditions.

Application forms and submission procedure

Here is the gist of the steps involved in online application:

  • Fill the online form with correct details by registering on Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education website.
  • Carefully fill all the personal and academic details.
  • Upload recently clicked coloured passport size photograph, thumb impression, and signature.
  • Complete the payment process by using a preferred mode.
  • Keep the application form safely so that it can be used in the later process of selection.

Forms for AP EAMCET 2018 will be filled in online mode. The application will be available in the first week of February 2018 on the official website of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Applicants have to submit only one application. Multiple applications will lead to rejection of the candidate.

The details filled in the application form should be according to the matriculation certificate. Any discrepancy detected will lead to rejection of the application. Candidates have to upload their scanned photo, thumb impression and signature in prescribed format while registering for the examination.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be given concession in the examination fees. For details visit the official website and read the notification carefully. Examination fees can be paid using any one of the following methods:

  • Debit Card
  • Net Banking

Admit Card

Admit card for AP EAMCET will be released on the official website. Candidates have to regularly visit the official website for updates on downloading of the hall ticket. Admit cards are expected to be released in the third week of April 2018. Only those candidates will be issued admit cards who would have successfully completed the payment process.

Test city and center will be clearly mentioned on the admit card. In no case, the test city or the test venue will be changed. Candidates won’t be allowed to attempt the exam at any alternative center.

For downloading of the admit card, the registration number will be required. Therefore, candidates should carefully note down their respective registration number. Admit card will not be mailed to the candidate or no separate communication will be done regarding this. The admit card will bear the following information-

  • Roll Number
  • Name
  • Father’s Name
  • Photograph
  • Scanned Signature
  • Test City
  • Test center address
  • Test timings along with the reporting time
  • Conduct and pre-requisites for the examination

AP EAMCET is expected to be conducted in last week of April 2018. The examination will be conducted only once. Hence, those candidates who don’t turn up for the examination will be automatically disqualified from the selection process.

Admission Procedure

Results of AP EAMCET 2018 will be declared in the second week of May 2018. After the declaration of results, a merit list will be prepared. Before publishing the merit list, the board will release a preliminary answer key in the last week of April 2018.

Candidates can cross check their answers and can register their objection, if any, by the 1st week of May 2018. In the merit list, only those candidates will get a position who will secure the minimum required marks as set by the examination conducting authority.

Admission in the respective courses will be done on the basis of candidate’s rank secured in the final merit list. A counselling process will begin in which seats will be allocated to candidates by Central Allotment Process. Candidates will have to choose their respective stream and reserve their seat in respective college.

Candidates can then complete the admission procedure by visiting the particular college and submitting the examination fees and other relevant documents. Application form, hall ticket, and the rank card are to be preserved until admission procedure is over.

Syllabus

AP EAMCET is an objective type entrance test. The duration of the entrance test will be of three hours. There will be four parts in the question paper namely – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).The exam will be conducted in online (computer based) mode only.

APEAMCET Results

The final result of AP EAMCET 2018 will be declared around the second week of May 2018. Candidates will be able to check their results and download their scorecard from the official website. After the conduction of the examination, candidates are expected to regularly visit the official website for updates regarding declaration of results and counselling process that will follow soon after the declaration of results.

Cut-Off

Students can have an idea of the cut-off of AP EAMCET 2018 by having a look at the previous year cut-off. Following cut-off list comprises of category wise cut-off.The cut-off varies from category to category. Mainly the cut off depends on these following factors:

  • The number of candidates appearing in the AP EAMCET entrance exam all across the state.
  • The difficulty level of the questions asked in the online test.
  • The availability of seats in the institute.
  • The number of applicants applying for AP EAMCET.
  • Recent trends of cut-off.

Score Validity

The validity of the examination score stands for the particular academic year only. Hence, the validity of AP EAMCET 2018 score will be for the academic year 2018-19 only. Every candidate will get only one chance to appear for AP EAMCET for a particular academic year. Request for multiple attempts in any scenario will not be entertained by the admission directorate.

APEAMCET 2018 Counselling Schedule

Candidates will be able to view their scores once the result is hosted on the official website. This score will be the basis of their selection in AP EAMCET. The scores can also be viewed by simply logging on to the official website.

After the successful conduction of AP EAMCET, the results will be declared around the second week of May 2018. Those candidates who will be scoring above the cut off mark will be shortlisted for counselling according to the order of merit.

Based on the merit list, candidates will be issued counselling letter for attending the counselling process. The mode of counselling process will be notified on the official website. Allotment list will be released on the official website after every round of counselling process. Candidates can check their status for admission from this list.

Candidates attending the counselling process have to ensure that they are in possession of all the required documents like:

  • 10th class marksheet and passing certificate
  • 12th class marksheet and passing certificate
  • Hall Ticket
  • Score Card
  • Counselling Letter

Hall ticket, Score Card, Counselling Letter must be preserved until the final process of counselling and seat allotment is over.

Candidates can visit the given there and download the previous year papers of AP EAMCET and also the sample papers related to the same.
