JEECUP Exam or Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic) is conducted by Joint Entrance Examination Council for admission to various Polytechnics Institutes affiliated to Board of Technical Education, U.P. JEECUP is basically a qualifying entrance examination for providing admission to different Diplomas/ITI courses/programs offered at various Polytechnic and ITI institutions in state of Uttar Pradesh. The exam is also known as UPJEE.
JEECUP 2018 was held on 22 April, 2018 in two shifts, morning from 9.00 am to 12.00 (for Group A) and afternoon from 2.30 to 5.30 (for Group B to K).
(Group A is for Engineering Polytechnic Diploma while Group B to K consists of several Diploma Courses.)

JEECUP 2018 Exam Pattern
JEECUP Exam pattern is designed in a way that it covers the basics of subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture, Reasoning, Analytical skills, General intelligence etc, depending upon the group for which the candidate is giving the exam.
- Format: UPJEE is a pen and paper examination held with question booklet and answer sheet (OMR answer sheet).
- Duration: Duration of the exam is 3 hours
- Sections: Generally the exam has 3 sections, but it differs from course to course (or from group to group)
- Language: Paper is in two languages that are English and Hindi.
- Number of questions: The exam will have 100 questions in total which will be optional/ multiple-choice.
- Total marks: Total marks of the paper will be 400. Each question carries 4 marks.
- Marks allotment criteria: For every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded to the candidate and there will be negative marks as well. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
JEECUP 2018 Syllabus
Syllabus of the exam covers mostly topics from class 10th and 12th, as per the course opted by the candidate in the exam.
For example: For candidates of Engineering and Technology Diploma, questions from mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from class 10th and 12th are asked. The syllabus for diploma in the pharmacy will contain questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics subjects.

Each subject of every group has certain wightage according to the groups the candidates have applied, generally the weightage is divided equally among all the subjects of the group, but for some group it is different.
