Students can apply for BTech admissions at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) by following the steps given below.

• Go through the official website of the TIET - https://www.thapar.edu/admissions. Click on the "Apply Online" link.
• Complete the registration for BTech admissions by entering your name, mobile number, city, programme and other related information.

BE Programmes

1. Based on JEE Mains

• 50% of the total available seats for the BE programmes will be filled based on the percentile secured by the candidates in the JEE Mains 2022.
• Counselling will be conducted for the shortlisted students for the allocation of seats to the BTech programmes.
• If any seat remains vacant after the final round of counselling, it will be filled through mode 2 and vice versa.

1. Based on 10+2 Marks in PCM

• 50% of the available seats for the BTech programmes at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology will be filled based on the marks secured by the candidates in the 10+2 or equivalent exam in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the subjects of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology and Technical Vocational Subject.
• Counselling will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates and based on merit, seats will be allocated.

BTech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering

1. Based on NEET

• 50% of the total available seats for BTech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering will be filled based on merit in the NEET followed by Counselling.
• If seats for these programmes remain vacant even after the final counselling then they will be filled through Mode 2 and vice versa.

1. Based on 10+2 Marks in PCB

• 50% of the total seats available under these programmes at the TIET will be filled based on the aggregate score obtained by the students in 10+2 in Chemistry, Physics and Biology followed by counselling.

BTech (Lateral Entry)

• Candidates wishing to secure admissions to the BTech Lateral Entry programmes at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology must have qualified for the LEET-TU with an aggregate of at least 20% marks (15% for SC/ST).

The eligibility requirements that candidates should meet to become eligible for applying for BE/BTech admissions at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) are given below.

All BE Programmes

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent exam with an aggregate of at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in three subjects namely Mathematics, Physics and any one of the subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational Subject.
• Candidates should have appeared in the JEE Mains 2022.
• Candidates should be Indian Citizens and must possess good character.
• Students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent in 2020, and 2021 or appearing in 2022 can also apply for BE admissions at Thapar Deemed to be University.

BTech Biotechnology/Biomedical Engineering

• Candidates must have passed Class XII or its equivalent with an aggregate of at least 60% marks while it is 55% for SC/ST in three subjects namely - Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• Candidates must have appeared in the NEET exam 2022.
• Candidates should be Indian Citizens and must have good character.
• Candidates should be born on or after 1^st October 1997 to become eligible for applying for BTech Biotechnology admissions at Thapar Deemed to be University. 5 years of age relaxation is allowed for candidates of the SC/ST/PH category.

BTech (Lateral Entry)

• Candidates must have completed their 3-year Diploma in a relevant discipline from an institute/polytechnic college affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education/University with an aggregate of at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST), Or
• Candidates should have completed their 2-year Diploma after 10+2 in a relevant discipline from a recognized board or institute with an aggregate of at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST), Or
• Candidates should have completed their B.Sc (Non-medical) from a recognized university or institute with an aggregate of at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
• Candidates must possess good character and should be Indian Citizens.
