Thapar University

India's Patiala is home to Thapar University, a deemed-to-be-university. It was established in 1956. It received an A+ from NAAC, and in 2021, NIRF ranked it 42. It offers an MBA program that lasts two years. Additionally, MBA-Business Analytics and Data are available. 72% of the students accepted are from the UR category, 25% are from the SC/ST group, and 3% are physically challenged. There are 15% of seats set aside for FN/NRI candidates. One percent of the seats available are reserved for children of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology employees.

Applications are now being accepted for the class of 2024.

Application Procedure

The application fee is INR 1200/- only. One copy of the form that has been fully completed should be kept and produced when counseling begins. Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in their final year of study may also apply for the MBA program. Such candidates must, however, provide documentation that they passed their qualifying exam by October 30, 2022, at the latest.

They also held an offline admissions process in the month of March 2022.

One must meet the eligibility requirements before applying, which include having a graduate degree in any discipline with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or grade obtained from an accredited university or institution that is at least 50%. The applicant must have a current score from the CAT, NMAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, GRE, SNAP, or Thapar Entrance test.

Selection Process

Both entrance and merit are required to secure a seat at Thapar University.

• Entrance examinations like CAT, NMAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, GRE, etc. are required. If one doesn’t have before-mentioned qualifying score, then they can write an additional exam conducted by university itself called Thapar Management Aptitude Test which includes both verbal and non-verbal part. The test lasts for 60 minutes.

Shortlisted candidates will be chosen based on their cumulative academic record and test results that were available at the time of application.

• Candidates who make the short list will be invited for an evaluation and interview in person. Candidates must submit a quick video before the interview explaining why they want to pursue an MBA. The candidate must be evaluated for goodness - of - fit during the interview.
• Finally, a net score is calculated and final list is published. Selected students may go on to pay their fees.

FOR MBA PROGRAM

For NRI, per semester fees is $8354. Additionally in 1^st semester, admission fee of $418 must be paid.

FOR MBA IN BUSINESS ANALYTICS AND BIG DATA PROGRAM

For NRI, per semester fees is $9984. Additionally in 1^st semester, admission fee of $418 must be paid.

HOSTEL CHARGES

Mess charges include INR 20,000/- per semester.

Eligibility Criteria

• A graduate degree in any discipline with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or grade obtained from an accredited university or institution that is at least 50%.
• Qualified score from the CAT, NMAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, GRE, SNAP, or Thapar Entrance test.
• Postgraduate degree in any field with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or grade of 50 from a reputable university or institution.
• Graduate degree with a passing score on all of the CA, ICWA, or ACS Intermediate examination's parts and/or sections.

Scholarships

These scholarships are not transferable under any circumstances and will be awarded based on your performance in the admission evaluation process.

• Any applicant who was awarded a scholarship at the time of application may keep it for an entire academic year. He or she must maintain an 8.00 CGPA, a minimum of 75 percent attendance, and no backlogs in order to be eligible for the scholarship in the following two semesters (Semesters 3 and 4).

• CGPAs of 9.00 and higher qualify for a 50% tuition fee waiver, regardless of the initial scholarship amount.
• CGPAs of 8.50 and higher qualify for a 30% tuition fee waiver, regardless of the initial scholarship amount.
• Regardless of their initial scholarship amount, students with CGPAs of 8.00 and higher will receive a 20 percent tuition fee waiver.

• The following scholarships will also be awarded to MBA students who did not already have one at the time of their admission. Their third and fourth semesters are covered by the proposed scholarship (final year of MBA). This category contains 15 scholarships, which will be given out according to CGP. The only candidates will be students with CGPAs greater than 9.

The top five students will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver; the next five will receive a 30% tuition fee waiver; and the remaining five will receive a 20% tuition fee waiver. Only if the student maintains a CGPA of 9 or higher will this scholarship be extended to the fourth semester.
