One of the premier institutes in North-eastern India, Gauhati University, also known as GU, is a government collegiate university located in Guwahati, Assam. Accredited grade “A” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, the university has 39 postgraduate departments. In the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Medicine, Engineering, and Technology, it has 341 affiliated colleges that offer undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Gauhati University, MBA Eligibility Criteria
- Any candidate who has received at least 50% in any discipline from either Gauhati University or any recognised institution.
- A candidate from the reserved category gets a 5% relaxation in the minimum required percentage.
- Any candidate who are yet to appear for their final semester examinations of their bachelor’s degree is eligible to apply and if selected should meet the eligibility criteria of the MBA Programme in due course of time.

Gauhati University, MBA Selection Process
- Entrance: The first step of the selection process is the evaluation of marks obtained in the entrance exams.
- The university accepts marks of national exams like CAT, XAT, MAT or the university’s own exam GU RET also known as the Gauhati University Research Entrance Test.
- Group Discussion: The evaluation is followed by a group discussion. A group of candidates will be called to discuss a topic in front of judges.
- Personal Interview: A personal interview follows a GD. Here candidates are called, questioned and assessed personally.
