Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi was established in 1961 in South Delhi, Delhi. It is a public research and engineering institute located in the capital city of the country. Prof. Humayun Kabir, the then Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs Minister inaugurated this institute in Delhi in August 1961. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi is surrounded by the Sri Aurobindo Marg on the East, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) complex on the West New Ring Road on the North and the NCERT on the South. The Government of India gave it the status of "Institution of Eminence" in 2018.

IIT Delhi BTech Application Process 2022

Candidates have to apply and appear for JEE Advanced to secure admission to the BTech programmes at IIT Delhi and the details of the application process are given below.

Step 1 - Login and Fill Details

• Candidates have to visit the JEE Advanced official website and log in with their JEE Mains roll number, password and security pin.
• Candidates can choose a new password for the JEE Advanced.
• Now, after creating a password, candidates have to mention their number of attempts, and choices for exam centres and select the language for the exam.

Step 2 - Upload Scanned Images

• Candidates should keep the required documents handy and scanned to upload when required.
• Here, candidates need to upload scanned images of their Class X and XII Certificates and other documents like category, and PwD certificates (if necessary).

Step 3 - Fee Payment

• Candidates can proceed towards fee payment after uploading the scanned images.
• They can complete the fee payment for the JEE Advanced exam through online or offline mode according to their convenience.

Step 4 - Application Print Out

• Candidates can take a printout of their filled JEE Advanced application form after fee payment.

IIT Delhi BTech Selection Process 2022

Admission to the BTech programmes of IIT Delhi is offered to the students in the following manner.

• The admissions to the BTech programmes at IIT Delhi will be allocated to eligible students based on their rank in the JEE Advanced.
• The JEE Advanced registration process usually begins after the completion of all the stages of the JEE Mains conducted by the NTA.
• Candidates should clear the JEE Mains exam conducted by the NTA to become eligible for appearing for the JEE Advanced.
• Candidates have to appear for JoSAA Counselling to secure admission to the BTech programmes at IIT Delhi
• The JoSAA Counselling for BTech admissions begins after the announcement of the results of the JEE Advanced.
• There will be 6 rounds of JoSAA Counselling and seats will be allocated to the students based on their category, JEE Advanced rank and the availability of seats.

IIT Delhi believes that financial constraints should not hinder a candidate's ability to pursue higher education and hence offers assistance to students in the form of scholarships and the details are given below.

• All the BTech students who have a CGPA of 6 and a family income of less than or equal to 4.5 lakhs per annum are eligible for Merit-cum-Means scholarships of the institute.
• This scholarship is offered for 25% of the students and provides a tuition fee waiver and Rs. 1,000/- per month.
• An additional 10% of the students meeting the income criterion are provided with a tuition fee waiver.
• Students of the SC/ST/PwD category will be exempted from the payment of tuition fees.
