National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), popularly known as NITK Surathkal, and formerly named as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), is located in Surathkal, Mangalore. It was formed as KREC in 1960 and is now one of India's 31 National Institutes of Technology, as well as a Government of India-designated Institute of National Importance. In India, NIT is the only campus with its own private beach.

Candidates must complete the application form online. The following are the steps for completing the online application form:

  • Select 'apply now' from the admissions icon.
  • Registration: Log in directly if you already have an account.  However, if you are a new user, you must first register by entering the required information (email ID & Mobile number).
  • Fill out each and every required information thoroughly.
  • Payment: Registered applicants must fill out an online application form and pay the mandatory application fee of Rs. 500 (OC/ OBC) and Rs. 150 (SC/ ST/ PwD) by net banking/credit card/debit card.
  • The completed application form, along with payment receipts and copies of all required papers, should be mailed to the Assistant Registrar (address is given below).

To get accepted to NIT, candidates must fulfil the following steps:

  • Candidates must take the CAT/ MAT entrance test as a selection criterion.

 National Institute of Technology MBA Eligibility:

The following are the admission requirements for the MBA programme at NIT:

  • Every year, the admissions process starts in January or February with the publishing of the notice on their official websites.
  • Only those who have taken the Common Admission Test (CAT) or the Xavier Admission Test (XAT) are eligible to apply.
