Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) was established in 1953 by Dr T.M.A. Pai. Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 1957, i.e, after the establishment of MAHE. MIT is a constituent institution of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education and offers BTech programmes in various streams. Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the first self-financing colleges in India. MET

• Manipal Entrance Test (MET) is conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education every year to select students for BTech programmes at MIT.

Regular

Indian Boards

• All the candidates must have passed Class XII with Mathematics, Physics and English as compulsory subjects along with Botany/Chemistry/Biotechnology/any technical vocational subject as optional with an aggregate of at least 50% marks taken together in Mathematics, Physics and any one of the optional subjects.
• The technical or vocational subject must be related to the Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Chemical/Computer streams.

A Level

• All the students must have Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/Biotechnology or any technical vocational subject in the A Levels and English in the GCSE/IGCSE/AS.
• The minimum grade essential is D in Mathematics, Physics and any one of the optional subjects.
• The technical vocational subject should be related to the Civil/Computer/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical streams.

IB

• Candidates must have Physics, English, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science or any technical vocational subject as an optional subject at the HL level.
• Candidates are required to have an IB Diploma or IB Certificate with an average of 4 points for Mathematics, Physics and any optional subject with a minimum of 24 points.
• The technical vocational subject should be related to the Civil/Computer/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical streams.

Lateral Entry

• All the candidates must have passed a 3-year Diploma in their respective engineering stream from the State Board of Technical Examination with an aggregate of at least 45% marks or equivalent. Or
• Candidates should have passed BSc Degree with Mathematics in Class XII from a recognized University or Institute with an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent.
