Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), earlier known as Manipal Engineering College is a part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education and was established in 1957. It is one of the first self-financed colleges in India and it now contains 17 academic departments that offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The MCA programme of MIT is a two-year postgraduate programme designed to develop qualified IT computer professionals.
