GITAM was established in 1980 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh by Dr M.V.V.S. Murthy. GITAM abbreviation is Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management and is a private deemed to be university. Earlier, it was affiliated with the Andhra University under the name of GITAM College and later it gained autonomous status in 2007. It was the first private engineering institute in the state of Andhra Pradesh to receive the status of a University. Since its inception, it has produced many renowned personalities and undertaken many social activities.

GITAM BTech Application Process 2022

Candidates are required to apply for the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) to secure admission at GITAM Deemed to be University. The steps to be followed for completing the BTech programmes application process at GITAM are given below.

Step 1 - Registration

• Candidates have to press "Apply Online" and register themselves for the GAT with a valid mobile number and email ID.

Step 2 - Fill Up the Application

Step 3 - Fee Payment

• After filling in all the information and reviewing it before submission, candidates should proceed towards fee payment and complete it by using the online mode of transaction. The application fee for GAT for BTech admissions is Rs. 1,000/-.

The selection of students for BTech admissions (BTech Computer Science and Engineering) at GITAM involves the following steps.

• Students should register for the GAT exam first to participate in the BTech admission process.
• Students have to appear for the GAT and should secure a decent rank/score in the exam to participate in Counselling.

GITAM BTech Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility requirements that candidates should satisfy to become eligible for applying for BTech admissions at GITAM Deemed to be University are given below.

All BTech Programmes Except BTech in Biotechnology

• All the students must have passed their Class XII or its equivalent with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA (55% in case of ICSE/CBSE) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics me
• Candidates must have a qualifying rank in the GAT to become eligible for BTech admissions at GITAM.

BTech Biotechnology

• Candidates should have completed Class XII or its equivalent exam with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA while it is 55% in the case of ICSE/CBSE in Mathematics/Biology (either of both subjects) from a recognized board or institute.
• Candidates should have a valid score in the GAT conducted by the GITAM Deemed to be University.
